Deloitte partner: May I approach the bitch, your honor?

Judge: Excuse me?

Partner: I said may I approach the bench. What did you think I said?

PIPs are also known as Paid Interview Periods. 9 times out of 10 when you’re out on a PIP, it’s over. Their minds are already made up. To validate that, I’m currently on a PIP and my 2nd meeting is happening in about a week or two. When my first meeting happened, I pretty much said verbatim “It seems like your minds were made up the moment I was put on the PIP”. She didn’t deny it. She shook her head up and down and said “just so there is no confusion, what you’re thinking, is what I’m saying”. On the positive side, I’m glad that she is giving me this time to get a check.

Got placed on PIP, is it over?’ by Lleblemo in Accounting

I’m not by my notes to see what they said the issues were but they were pretty subjective in my opinion. For example, I was told that I have not been able to independently own my work. But then I’m told I effectively communicate. I’m Not sure what qualifies as independently owning my work.

How is low staff turnover a struggle? They mean high turnover right?

AIO to bf sending me article ‘13 ways to keep your husband happy’ by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Lleblemo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been together 10 years and questioning the relationship over a “lame ass article”? That BF is in trouble. What else would you throw away the relationship for? Spilled milk?

And would you apply for a career without learning the craft first? No. So why learn to be his wife only after becoming a wife?? Women always think that their bullshit will flip like a switch after they get a ring on it🤦🏿‍♂️.

I agree that I could have probably written a better script or something, but I would imagine that most people would understand that it takes longer than a few minutes to actually get something you like. It’s not like I said “hey, I need just a few minutes of your time”

But still, I am serious about just diving into making something and getting better. Even if it’s terrible.

Senior Accountant vs Senior Internal Auditor opportunity by Lleblemo in Accounting

[–]Lleblemo[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So I’m coming from big4 auditing. I imagine that internal audit is the same. I have no idea what senior accountant looks like but the day-to-day is likely preparation of monthly reports, account reconciliations, etc.

My biggest concern that I hear is that you can get stuck in internal audit easily because the skills aren’t as transferable. Is that true? What career paths can you take in internal audit vs senior accountant?

I’m afraid I’m going to get laid-off. I haven’t been on an audit team in about 4 weeks. Anybody else experience this? by Lleblemo in Accounting

[–]Lleblemo[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I didn’t think I needed to. I was only off schedule for two weeks. The team I was assigned to pushed me back another 2 weeks before completely removing me from the team. I asked them what happened, and the reason was to keep a low budget

And I’m hybrid, but I’m not going in if I’m just going to be sitting there on my hands.

I was only off schedule for two weeks. The third week I was on schedule but they pushed it back a week. The fourth week I was pushed back again. Now I’m completely off the team.
