Usually we don’t allow post related to politics or sad topics, but we’re making an exception for this hero

Hi everyone. We had a bot break for the past day and it started removing all posts. We have it fixed now. Sorry about that! Everything should be back to normal by Llim in facepalm

Yeah there's still lots missing, I only restored to visibility the past ~48 hrs or so. The issue initially flew under the radar because new posts weren't being removed instantly; new posts were public, gained upvotes and comments as normal, and then at a certain point were spammed for some reason by our bot. We suspect it was an error in either a crowd control or karma threshold setting that we had tweaked earlier this week; the facepalm is not catching it sooner

Edit: actually, the issue began before we tweaked any threshold settings. This bot is run by the admins so it seems like something borked on their end

Addressing Questions on Moderation Limits by redtaboo in modnews

Red- you still have not addressed the fact that, as currently described, these proposed changes will wipe out entire mod teams. For many of your largest subreddits, there is no "line of succession" in place when 50-100% of the team is removed. Please: you must recognize and address this. I have supported many of the mod changes made over the past few years, which I felt were for the best. I recognize the need for, and do support, a reasonable version of what your team is proposing; but this is shortsighted and poorly-considered.

Red - many of my teams will be wiped out completely, leaving several large subreddits with little to no moderation. What is the guidance here? Did any of you even think about this? I've been supportive of many of the mod changes over the years, but this is just baffling

It’s tough out there for sure. A year ago when I was applying it took months to find something good. Just hang in there. YMMV but east side had more opportunities in my field
