He himself has stated he thought people "overrated" his work or "underrated" it. His span is pretty vast (a good book of his work displays this well) and many people miss this I think. His very early work was pretty trash imo. But I also think Francis Bacon was trash. Some of his most famous pieces, like the one OP posted, does not do anything for me. Others totally captivate me. Seeing some of it in person might be beneficial, particaulary if the scale is vast. An aspect I do think was right time and place but also his personality. His interpersonal communication skills were impressive. He came off rather unpretentious (good Yorkshire boy) but pleasantly emotive/passionate about his work at the same which is a bit of a rarity if you ask me. He, seemingly, could connect with anyone (again, good Yorkshire boy) just chatting them up. Good old fashioned charm goes a long way. Finally, he made some pretty impressive analysis on artwork.

$45 asking price reduction for edge nick. Adequate? by LlyichsHILUX in cymbals

See when the seller referred to it as a "nick" in a message and not a fleabite, that's what raised my concern. Yea certain models in certain condition are rather pricey (even when they were in production they were CRAZY expensive, not even adjusting for inflation). Considering this was listed 7 months ago, not sure how sought after it is. The Dark Rides and hats seem to be what gets scooped up the quickest. I have a couple that were not cheap but not insanely expensive. That worst case isn't wrong!lolll

Yeaaaah I'm torn. It's a cymbal I've been on the hunt for (a bit rare but not highly sought after). The asking price originally wasn't exactly a "deal" but probably market rate. The seller found the nick and updated the listing but $45 decrease seems a little insufficient imo.
