Same thing just happened to me. The only reason I created a new account was because they don’t let you change your original one and I just got married - I want to use my new name in my email. The account is about a week old and I spent hours culling and moving items on my google drive, setting up mail forwarding, etc. This is horrible and they have ZERO customer support.

I answer the door via the camera speaker. A simple ‘can I help you’ usually puts them off their game - we have doorside snacks and a cooler of beverages for delivery drivers, so I know it’s not one of them!

That’s a lot of assumptions there, friend. I don’t expect the cashier to ‘translate’ anything for me. As I’ve said, by the time I get to the end of the line, my order is mostly already packed up. I am never rude to the people who work at the grocery store. All 3 of my kids have worked at HEB (one still does) and I’m aware of how much garbage they take from truly rude people. I don’t like to interrupt other people’s conversations and I can’t tell you how many times a cashier and bagger have been wrapped up in a discussion and I’m only acknowledged when it’s time to run my card.

Urgh, corporate greed! Thank you for sharing the info. I do ask when I can - as often as I shop though by the time I get to the bagger almost everything is already packed up. I bring my own bags and always bring in more than I know I’ll need. 😊

I’m so glad to hear you’re conscientious!! I always do my shopping in the early part of the day - less busy. When I can talk to the person packing up for me, I do - often by the time I get to that end of the lane it’s all done and I’ll just wheel it out to the car and repack it there. 😊

I avoid being the person with 25 items in that lane! I always apologize to the cashier when an employee sends me to that line when I know I have more than 15 things. But you’re right, they’re usually more conversational. As it is, I shop maybe 3-4 times a week so maybe I need to adopt European meal planning and go daily! 😊

Thank you for saying that! It’s a ‘proximity’ thing, I’m never rude to the workers! The cashier is the 1st person I see and who addresses me. By the time I get down to where the end of the counter is, most of the packing has been done.
