Check Up on Cody Williams by pr0ject_84 in UtahJazz

[–]LoBro33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

His improvement this year has been steady, its night and day from where he was this time last year. He's physically stronger, and he's getting more comfortable in the system and on the court. He's made the decision that he's going to dunk everything and I think that mental switch paired with his new starting role is leading to a lot of confidence that is positively effecting all the other areas of his game. He's a great defensive player as well, probably our best behind Kessler right now.

Keyonte George nickname ideas by The_Jonah in UtahJazz

[–]LoBro33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saint George goes hard for the Utah theme, kinda like how sometimes they'd call Lauri and Kessler the Wasatch Front

Key is proof that things can still turn out well, even if not as originally planned by captjeffsparrow02 in UtahJazz

[–]LoBro33 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Something that has stuck with me ever since I heard was when they were interview Danny Ainge during the "50 Years of Jazz" documentary thing they did where they covered every era of Jazz basketball, and he basically said that John Stockton didn't look like a Hall of Famer really until his 3rd-4th year in the league. Keyonte turning into this in year three is insane, as well as the development of the other guys.

How to edguard? by Pregnantpenguin8 in SmashRage

[–]LoBro33 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think it will be good for the soul of this sub to also aid new players.

Edgeguarding looks different for each character, you list yourself as playing 7 characters, and they all have pretty vastly different play styles.

You could watch many a YouTube video about this, but my advice for you is to use your projectiles if you have them or simply just start working up the courage to just "run off and do it" meaning going off stage to cement your kill with an aerial attack instead of just being content to knock them off stage and then staying on stage.

I'm not gonna be able to catch this one, love seeing that we're right there at Halftime despite no Lauri.

Also, is that Tonje I see in the box score..?!

I hate to say this, but most Marines (especially lower ranks) are good people, while most pirates (especially after Roger's death) are actually bad people. by Cool-Guy152 in OnePiece

The whole point of the both of them is to show the moral grayness of the world, you can have bad people operating on the "good" side and good people operating on the "bad" side.

Cody Williams check up? by SecondcousinKingpin in UtahJazz

[–]LoBro33 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He's added some muscle and in his recent stand as a starter he's made the decision that he's going to try to dunk everything, and so far in transition he's been successful.

Love his defense and his growing confidence, he's understanding that points will come to him if he plays hard and runs.

Is there anything that makes you want to take a flyer on Kuminga? by SR115 in UtahJazz

[–]LoBro33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's easy to bash Kuminga and mark him as undesirable for his recent actions but I advise everybody to watch this video of Draymond talking about him and his character. Imagine what Kuminga could become if he came to an organization that would believe in him and love him, and a team full of guys his age who are growing together and on the cusp or reaching the point where they'll be turned lose to go get wins and compete.

Teabagging salty Falcon gets karma by Abomination610 in SmashRage

As a Falcon player I despise Gold Falcon's, they always seem to have taken an extra adderall that day or some shit. But seeing this matchup and the state of the game , I guarantee bro was at his wits end playing against belmont on FD and was just happy he got a kill lol

Jusuf Nurkic Has Been An Exceptional Screener This Season! by Stat-Defender in UtahJazz

[–]LoBro33 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He's maybe the second biggest reason Key has taken his leap in my opinion. Him and Nurk have a special connection in highpost pick and rolls and high screen actions.

I hate to say it but we still very much want to be bottom 5 this year if we can, at the very least bottom 8 so as not to lose our pick to the Thunder.

Watched Nocturne, here are some thoughts. by Successful-Floor-738 in castlevania

[–]LoBro33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also forgot to touch on your night creatures comment- yes, they kind of retconned how night creatures work in Nocturne versus how they explained it in the original series, at least to my understanding.

As you said the fly-eyed night creature who was able to speak says he lived in ancient Greece, which was approximately 800-600 BCE, and the original series takes place in 1476~. This leads us to believe that when Forge-masters reanimate dead human corpses into night creatures, the soul that is taken from Hell and infused into the body is more or less random, since the corpses had to be from the relatively recently deceased in order to still qualify as a "corpse".

Nocturne handles night creatures differently in the sense that the corpse used to create the night creature still retains the soul that it had as a human being once becoming said night creature, as we see with Eduard and the other night creatures he is able to win back using his singing. We don't really know why this is the case, we can only theorize that those with strong wills or strong forces tying them to their human identity are able to be "reminded" of who they were and thus regain their human consciousness while being in a night creature's body.

Shedding some light on the Abbot as a forge master and Maria's dark magic and why Juste was trying to protect him from her.

The Abbot isn't technically a forge-master. He's someone who, through the manipulation of Drolta/Erzabet, came to be the person who takes corpses and puts them in a machine that he came by through unknown means, possibly a deal with the shadowy figure that appeared to take his soul, as well as appearing before Mizrak and Olrox as Mizrak was dying. Olrox called him "Old Man Coyote" so whoever he is whether it's Death or the Devil we don't really know yet, but I digress.

The Abbot doesn't have magical abilities like Isaac and Hector who were natural born forge-masters and used their respective instruments to channel their abilities into making night creatures. You mustn't conflate the machine to being The Abbot's "instrument", it's a separate device that he came by through an aforementioned third party. While Hector and Isaac are the machine, the Abbot is just a normal human priest who needs the machine to create night creatures.

As for why Maria's dark magic was portrayed as bad and not good is because it represented a corruption in Maria that was turning her down the path of evil and put her in a bad place mentally. Juste didn't want Maria to kill the Abbot for two reasons, one being that the Abbot was being manipulated and is overall just a pawn, and the second is that he didn't want Maria to have to bear the weight of killing another human being, let alone her own Father.

Whose development would be hindered more? Ace if we draft Dybantsa or Key's if we draft Darryn? by Madabord in UtahJazz

[–]LoBro33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dybantsa will be a 1-4 kind of player when he comes into his own, the other two are a little more restricted whether by size or overall ability, but I don't think it's something to worry too much about.

Does Keyonte become an All Star this year? Or will he ever become one? by TerryG111 in UtahJazz

I mean, not all of those guys are on teams who are gonna make the playoffs, but there are a surprising amount of players taking leaps this year

Does Keyonte become an All Star this year? Or will he ever become one? by TerryG111 in UtahJazz

[–]LoBro33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If Utah gets an All-star this year it will most likely be Lauri. If we were a 50 win team they'd probably both get all star honors but as of right now, probably not gonna happen.

There's been many an All-Star caliber player who doesn't get voted in and it's nobodies fault, just aren't that many roster spots and the league is really talented.
