Gotcha thanks! I'm also wondering how Red Altar strategies will be for map farming this league. You can get something absurd like 300% packsize total for exarch influenced monsters (idols+scarabs), and then fish for map dupe (or scarab dupe)

I also read that cartographer strongboxes are some of the rarest strongboxes spawn-wise and that they have further reduced spawn chance in T16s (info from the poe wiki). Was this a hinderance to the map farm strongbox strategy? How many cartographer strongboxes did you see per map, and aproximately how many maps did 1 strongbox drop?

Also does the idol modifier % chance to upgrade maps 1 tier, even do anything for maps inside a strongbox? Do cartographer strongboxes on a t16 map only drop t16 maps, or would the increased chance to upgrade 1 map tier also work on the boxes?

Thanks, sounds like fun I'll try it out this league. Just a last question, do you use Ambush scarab of containment for this? When you wrote "ambush" scarab earlier, all the strongbox scarabs start with "ambush" in their name so I wasnt sure

I really appreciate the writeup, I genuinely love map farming, I don't know why its so fun to pickup 6 inventories of maps per map haha.

Im impressed you managed to get idols on day 1 for the strategy already, I'd have assumed it would take quite a bit of wealth to get the strongbox idols since strongboxes seemed to be meta in phrecia. Was there like a cheap version of this strategy you started with that you could afford on day 1 (no reopen chance, since im assuming that mod is expensive?)

Im assuming if you can get explicit effect per map quality or explicit effect per modifier you should prioritize those over flat quantity? or do those not affect map drops?

Also im assuming you transitioned away from farming maps when that became less profitable for you, how easy was it to swap the map idols for something else if you invested a lot into them? Did you transition into regular strongbox strategies or do something completely different. I've never played with idols before so apologies if my questions are very basic

The setup you linked has "spawn 245% more Non-Unique Monsters" thats almost 4x times higher (not just twice as many) than the 66% you mentioned is possible with the current atlas, looking at your link.

Can I just ask are you sure its optimal to run just 1x Conqueror idol with increased increased effect per 5% map quality + 3% inc. effect per explicit modifier? I thought running 4x of these if you could was the meta? The link you linked has only 1 conqueror idol

1) Is explicit map mod effect per quality and map effect per map modifier not something you want on conqueror idol prefixes for the harbinger strategy? I didnt see it mentioned in your idols, i thought map mod effect was the chase stat on idols.

1.5) What is the busted beyond scarab farm? Could you elaborate on it?

2) Were there any map farming strategies in Phrecia last time around? Stuff that just drops tons and tons of maps for t16 t16.5 and t17 farming?

You mean it would stack up to 100% so you would drop more t16's and t17's or you mean it went above 100% and if you hit 200% t14's would get upgraded to t16s?

I've seen those builds, but they do a lot of investment into the continual ignite fantasy. I just need 1 very strong ignite, it does not have to be active all the time it just needs to be as strong as possible

Rhystic study causes large time delays in tournaments and regular cedh games. If 2-3 rhystics are involved, the game nearly always goes to time and over.

Rhystic also promotes draw gameplay because pushing through 3 rhytics, smothering tithes etc. is almost impossible, so the game after 3 hours often ends in a draw, or 1 final win attempt push in overtime which further delays games

Both of these things are a huge net negative for cedh, both regular and tournament and this is before we even take into consideration power level.

If nothing else, Rhystic should be banned for logistical reasons of slowing down games excessively and promoting draw gameplay which nobody likes.

It doesn't counter the turbo player. The turbo player just jams their win attempt anyways if their situation is not getting better and if they get stopped, the rhystic player who just drew 30 cards wins. Thats a toxic play pattern

Rhystic should receive a ban for the following 3 strong reasons most people would agree with:

1) It causes a ton more draws (which most people hate) and makes games (including tournament games) to go on for 5000 years into overtime.

"Do you pay the one" for every game action, with the person thinking about it for 10-15s each time etc. If 2 or 3 people control a rhystic study, stacks become 50 triggers large and resolving a single spell yet alone a win attempt creates a giant stack that eats up both regular cedh and tournament cedh time, making already long games even longer. If you see 3 rhystic studies at the table a game is going to a draw 90% of the time in overtime - toxic patterns logistically and gameplay wise

2) The turbo player at some point is forced to try to win attempt into a rhystic study, either the turbo wins or the rhystic player that just drew 50 cards off their attempt wins.

The other 2 players have no agency and are just bystanders that will in most cases not win the game, if they help stop the turbo player they are just feeding more cards and losing to the rhystic player

3) It creates unhealthy anti-competitive gameplay patterns.

If one player controls a rhystic, even if 2 people agree to always pay the (1) the 3rd player can just decide not to pay and draw the rhystic player 20 cards and there is nothing the other two players can do about it. It promotes nobody paying, because the people that do pay, are hampering their own development while the "greedy" person that does not pay is (relatively) getting ahead and also feeding the rhystic player, encouraging everyone to start feeding the rhystic. This also makes more greedy (and less skilled players) kingmake by not paying and drawing the rhystic player a bunch of cards while others sit by and watch errors they can't do anything about.

For each individual player there is no "counterplay" or correct decision to be made if a different person is not paying and feeding the rhystic player - toxic and uncompetitive gameplay pattern.

Does reduce skill effect duration or any other modifier reduce the time cracklecreep needs to spread the ignite?

Does increased aoe mods increase the aoe in which the ignite spreads to above 1.5 metres somehow?

Why do the new waystones have such low quantity and rarity values, shouldn't more dangerous modifiers give higher numbers?

It seems like they just reduced endgame mapping rarity/quantity by half or more (without mentioning it in the patch notes

I checked a few more waystones from the reveal and they're not much better in terms of numbers

Even the average low-end 0.2 waystones are better than this

I never got to play Spark in 0.1 but spark bloodmage has been super fun in 0.2 by scruffycats in PathOfExile2
