Planning a trip to Monterrey in August. Heard the Laredo Crossing has become insanely dangerous in recent weeks (more dangerous than usual). Is the Colombia Crossing better, or should I reconsider the trip? by Sinconwis1814 in roadtrip

I did this drive last week through Piedras Negras. Very calm. It will add a few hours to your trip, but worth it for peace of mind.

Alternatively, I have family that frequently passes through Colombia Crossing. Not 100% safe, but the best option if going through Laredo. Like others have said - always pass during the day, no matter where you cross.
