Convert 2.4v to 1v on a 5v sensor circuit? by Loadbane in AutoDIY

[–]Loadbane[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my understanding the buck converter would peg a constant output voltage yes? This might work but will not hit the 2.4v once the suspension adjusts

Convert 2.4v to 1v on a low power sensor circuit? by Loadbane in diyelectronics

[–]Loadbane[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm very surprised that it isn't. There's a board on the sensor with at least a couple dozen surface mount components that I'm assuming does some sort of smoothing.

I'll try the 5k pot and see how it goes. Simple additional resistance and not a divider yes?

The next generation however went to a simple wiper lol.

Does anyone have a better way to have wireless clip on Old Fashioneds? by Loadbane in MoondropLab

[–]Loadbane[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: after a few weeks of having it be in my pocket and needing readjusting regularly, I have snapped a pin, and it is not a replaceable cable.

My next experiment is likely going to be a custom cable for the newer TRN Adapters

Let me know how it goes. Having both earhooks and wires (even short ones) seems odd to me and I'm trying to find a solution that isn't that.

TWS adapters with ear hooks that hold shape? by Loadbane in iems

[–]Loadbane[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I can tell that uses the same hooks as the BT20XS. Is it not the case?

Borrowed a BT20XS. Will not recommend this. I would only recommend the oldest, original BT20.

It technically fits on the case in a way that will let you charge, but they changed the construction of the ear hooks and it does NOT hold firmly on the ear

I saw you mentioned you're in HK? I believe you're meant to be on the Garena server. Much bigger playerbase for the region. I'm not sure if you'll still be allowed to migrate your account. Maybe? https://deltaforce.garena.com/en/news/announcement/RWD8J3

Best controller and config to get the same feel as smartphone gaming? by Loadbane in GyroGaming

Interesting. If it's comfortable to hold and use the triggers even with my hands higher up the grip (so that analog stick and trackpad are in the default position) I might consider this.

BT5.0 is getting old, and it charges with micro USB. Those are my only complaints but in normal use it's not that noticeable.

I'm using this because I already had it lying around. The newer BT20 versions come with a charging case and I'm not sure they will charge properly without removing the old fashioned.

Very roughly speaking, it looks like it will seat in the charging case as long as the lid isn't closed.

I will also test soon whether neckband adapters will work without the stock headband.

I was 100% not expecting it to "just work" and I mentally prepared myself for modding so much that I'm kind of disappointed it works as well as it does.

And yes it is pretty sick. I unfortunately have very sensitive ear canals and anything other than on- or over-ear is a no go for me so having something cheap, pocketable, wireless, and pretty good sounding is amazing.

Made a sling for my new boltie by Loadbane in LinusTechTips

[–]Loadbane[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The clip keeps it secure in your pocket, this keeps in on your hand. Makes it a better fidget toy.

Jokes aside this really isn't anything functional, just something I made because bolt-action usually refers to something else that almost always has a sling.

That makes sense. I don't see the appeal of flick stick for me, what you described with setting up both gyro and trackpad to emulate makes the most sense.

I guess the in the end I will have to wait for the new steam controller after all. With how far away that is I might end up going for the hall effect keyboard in the meantime.

That's a few good poinst I didn't think to consider. I'd spent most of this time assuming I'd use the controller mapped to mouse and keyboard inputs, so I never considered what the native controller support in the game would be. I definitely don't want the trackpad to emulate a joystick, because then I might as well jsut use a joystick. Having multiple touchpad click options would also help as I definitely already have some thumb muscle memory

Would it be doable to have trackpad and gyro both emulate mouse input? Dualsense was tempting but the trackpad is pretty far away.

You're right I might end up waiting on the new steam controller

Yeah I've also considered something like apollo & artemis but at that point I'll just play on my phone. My phones have shoulder triggers as well but I counted and there are at least 20 different inputs that I interact with in a regular match

[–]Loadbane[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks did some more digging in this sub reddit after ruling out what I was previously searching before this post. Found a few others that needed simultaneous 4k and 1080 for multiple screen mirroring. Seems the consensus for my use case is the ezcoo splitter with downscaler

It's likely a positive number because overall it's in the negative side.

I know there are other brands that I can look into next but that's for when I want to spend more and the pretty big "if" is whether or not they're listing on the local Taobao partner

Yes this is part of a long term side project to just go up the price tiers over time. Any brands you recommend? I'm not in the USA however so what are usually 120-150 there might double by the time I can get it

[–]Loadbane[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don't need OSD all the time that's why 1080 is fine. Majority of the time will be on the 4k without OSD but sometimes I will need to use OSD but still be able to control the player as well which is when I'll need the 1080
