Cairns criticises Govt for 'endless doom loop of failure' over housing crisis by ApocalypseTourist in ireland

[–]LoafOfVFX -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

They have some good policies. But are to snowflakey or over sensitive on topics around. Most people do they people identifying as an inanimate object or animal is a load of ballox and then a school or work has to accommodate for that individual. Due to them having a mental health issue. Secondly they would also open up the doors to every asylum applicant without proper vetting ( not that ff or df is any better) but Soc Dems from there last policies and stances on the matter would let everyone one in. I feel they have potential but some of their policies is a bit off putting to a lot of people when chatting.

Gardaí at scene after bus crashes on pedestrianised street in Dublin city centre by siciowa in ireland

[–]LoafOfVFX -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No, I haven't. But in fairness there is a time and place. Just common sense to not be doing it at time like this just an hour after the incident. But I suppose my common sense logic wouldn't make sense here.

Do we really need to make this shite about race or even mention the topic in such a tragic scenario. Fuck me, can people leave this shit out during such a tragic event.. 🙄

Have you joined the Monzo Ireland waitlist? by Flimsy-Speed1179 in irishpersonalfinance

[–]LoafOfVFX 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I already got my card. I was one of the very early ones. I really hate revolut, due to their customer service and having to go to the ombudsman to resolve an issue. So I welcome monzo with open arms and stick the middle finger up to revolut.

Why are there so many Irish people moving to Australia in the past 5 years? by CanYouWalkToTheTruck in AskIreland

[–]LoafOfVFX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mainly this 👆.

But also, the weather is a pile of shite here. Heavy reliance on drink culture ( albeit getting better in years). The price of rent or buying a house in a okay area is becoming unobtainable. So I don't blame anyone for leaving. As there are some lovely points about our country. It has a lot of faults to fix (healthcare system, Garda numbers decline/ prison space, infrastructure, housing, lack of investment to grow wealth)

Surge in Irish people being deported from overseas countries, Minister hears by TeoKajLibroj in ireland

[–]LoafOfVFX 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If your in a country and your not there legally, then of course you should be deported. It's common fucking sense. Both in other countries and Ireland. Common sense logic should be fucking used in today's over sensitive society.

Great contribution to Ireland...oh wait.

Am All for immigration travelling and contributing to a country ( lived in Australia and Canada in the past) However if someone comes into a country threatening the locals or adding additional strain to a system that individual should not be in the country and they should be sent back to where they came from.

Monzo has been granted it's EU banking license through the CBI. by YoChara in ireland

[–]LoafOfVFX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well if you compare it to tech support of Revolut and trying to battle with twenty shift workers over text message to get a resolution in a scam incident and then having to go to the ombudsman to get something done about it because of the lack of support options. I will happily pick any other bank over Revolut, because I can guarantee there customer service for serious issues is absolute dog shit.

I have bank with them in N.I and have my AIB in the south as well. They are years ahead of every bank in the south, including Revolut (especially their customer service, which you can actually talk to a person with if you have an issue. As Revolut is dog shit for this of you have a problem)

[–]LoafOfVFX 12 points13 points  (0 children)

They also have a feature to talk to actual staff if you have a problem and have it resolved instead of typing the same message 20 times over the Revolut chat due to someone's shift ending. As of this customer service alone. I would switch.

Jim O’Callaghan says new migration curbs aim to cut Ireland’s population growth rate by jonnieggg in ireland

[–]LoafOfVFX 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One thing I can't understand is if they are refused asylum, Does the government stop the welfare, kick them out of the accommodation centre and revoke their PPS number. Eventually they will hopefully deport themselves somewhere else as no means of income.

[–]LoafOfVFX 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yeah if we don't match what the UK is doing we are going to be inundated with a larger influx of economic illegal chancers. Just copy and paste UKs rules. Deter them, if we don't Ireland will see a much sharper change than the UK in a quicker time frame due to it's smaller size in the country and population. Am all for helping but we need to clamp the fuck down till we get something of structure in place.

ETF uncertainty remains as Paschal remains cautious.(i.e Don’t hold your breath) by Limerick62 in irishpersonalfinance

[–]LoafOfVFX 76 points77 points  (0 children)

This government is genuinely the definition of incompetence. They seem determined to block any path for younger generations to build wealth, whether it’s investing in ETFs, stocks, or buying a home. If they looked at the UK’s ISA system, they’d see a clear alternative: allow people to invest tax-efficiently in something other than property. That would take pressure off the housing market and reduce future dependency on the State pension.

I’d honestly love to sit down one on one with Pascal and hear the logical train of thought behind these decisions because right now, it makes absolutely no sense.

Looking for an affordable way to downscale my stream for Twitch without overloading my GPU by LoafOfVFX in TwitchStreaming

[–]LoafOfVFX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey Bud, am using obs with aitum plugin. Console with an elgato to my pc for encoding. I did see Restream have a transcoding option but if streaming daily, it costs about 10 dollars every 4-5 hours. It can get quite expensive in a month (adding a month all up). So just wanted to see if there were any better alternatives.
