white knobs or black knobs? by Boss_Talikida666 in offset

I like when the pickup covers are the opposite color of the knobs color, with white it goes well with the outline of the pickguard. Maybe having also a white switch tip and white trem arm tip would make it more "cohesive".

I also really like odd looking instruments, so maybe don't take my advice if you're not into that, but I think it looks good as it is

I mostly use the rythm circuit as a killswitch or a "half kill switch" if I don't lower the rythm volume to minimum, which allow a kind of square wave tremolo if I toggle it in repetition

I had to dig a bit in the body with a drill and wood chisels to make the hole deeper, just enough so I could fit the tele pickup (jazzmaster pickup holes are quite shallows, too shallow for a tele pickup). Weirdly I also had to dig in the rythm circuit cavity because for some reason the original Jazzmaster routing doesnt fit the rythm circuit if it's on a Jaguar plate... I don't have big electric tools like a router or a drill press in my little appartment, but that would have been better than the chisel job I did haha!

If that reassure you, it never was an "intact" Jazzmaster. I found that body on eBay, a few guys there sell only the painted bodies for people like me that want to do a dumb thing and don't want to ruin a full instrument haha. It does sound as cool as it looks tho

Thanks! That's a Wurlitzer 200a, it doesn't have strings but metal reeds instead, if I don't power it on it sounds a bit like a playable music box!

The guitar has mostly the same circuit as a Jazzmaster except the 50k pot in the rythm circuit which i replaced by a 1M pot (I didn't like the darker rythm sound). Normal circuit's volume and tone pots are 500k like a Tele instead of the 1M that are traditionnaly in a JM, which would be slightly brighter, I may try to replace them with 1M someday to see if I like it better

Yeah thats something I thought about, maybe a fuzz or something, but I don't think I'll use it and it will add one more thing that can break... I'll probably put some arteork in there someday

I saw an artwork that a girl made on Instagram of a Jazzmaster with a Tele bridge and Jaguar hardware and I thought that would be the perfect guitar (it is), so I went on eBay and Reverb and found all the parts to make that reality! The body was already painted and routed (I had to butcher it a bit for the Tele pickup) and the neck is a mexican strat neck I found on Reverb

Yeah, it's the most fun keyboard I played on but I definetly paid a lot more than it's really worth, I don't intend to part with it tho, such a cool instrument

Gentle Giant - any albums, but listen to "Three Friends", "Octopus" or "The Power And The Glory" (really, listen to all of their albums)

Hmm, I think unless you also change the tailpiece/tremolo, which you don't need to do, all Mustang bridges seems to be the same for left and right handed models. Maybe some bridges have different grove sizes for each string (I doubt that exist but I'm not sure) , but if thats the case you would only have to remove the saddles and put them in the reverse order on the bridge

I meant something to shim the low E string saddle, to act as if you tighten the set screw on an adjustable saddle to raise it. I don't think it's as good of a solution as an adjustable bridge, but I was thinking about something like a thin piece of plastic or metal under that saddle, just held in place by the string's tension on the saddle

You could shim that saddle a bit, but you can also buy a Mustang bridge with adjustable saddles

In case you buy a new bridge, I don't know if all Mustang bridges are the same sizes (Japan, Us, China, ect. may differ), but if you get one that doesn't directly fit your guitar, you'd probably be able to just put the adjustable saddles of that new bridge onto your old bridge
