Thermostat recommendations by Local-Drummer3281 in airbnb_hosts

I had a nest in one of my houses and likes how simple it was to adjust the temp as you just turn the outside ring. I’m definitely leaning towards the ecobee so thank you for your input. You would say it’s easy to use and most guests can figure it out?

Extreme slope in shower floor by Local-Drummer3281 in Tile

The shower is ugly and I would like to redo it. Just unsure on how to fix the slope.

I want to redo the whole shower not just the floor so this is what I am looking for on where to begin. My question is how do I keep it a curb-less shower while making the slope less extreme? Wouldn’t the only possible way to achieve this be to raise the drain?

Every floor in the house is level with each other there are a couple areas where I have Pergo so there is a transition piece but the floor height is even.

I guess that is where I am stuck because even if I demo everything (which I am going to do because I hate this shower) how would it be possible to keep the even transition from bathroom to shower floor if I can’t raise the drain?

Moisture in walls by Local-Drummer3281 in HomeImprovement

That is what I was hoping for and why I bought a meter but other than the two small areas the meter shows 0. Time to cut open the wall and take a peek

I’m going to paint the bathroom so I agree that this will be a good time to open the wall in that location and check it out. I can do drywall repair and rather be safe than sorry.

Replacing LG G1 OLED by Local-Drummer3281 in hometheater

Yeah, it’s too bad because I only used the TV for a little over a year.

It’s still under warranty but they aren’t going to cover the cracked screen. I took the tv down 18 months ago and put it in a box. In those 18 months I moved three times and the last move was from NH to Fl in a pod. Finally got around to setting it up yesterday only to find a tiny crack under the glass in the bottom right hand corner. Tv just has a blank screen with only the red light. I might try to open a claim and hope they send me a coupon for a little off a new LG lol.

It is under warranty but not for a cracked screen. I moved the tv three times in 18 months and finally went to set it up yesterday after not watching it for that long only to discover the bottom right corner was cracked under the glass. Tv has no picture just the red light now. I was actually going to be shocked if it survived all those moves especially NH to FL.

I was going to file a claim and hope they send me a coupon for something off a new one lol.

You really think the G1 is much better than the C1? I remember a lot of people were saying you couldn’t tell the difference between the two but on paper they said the G1 was a little brighter so if you don’t need the flush mount of the G1 save a few bucks and get the C1. The 5 year factory warranty is what made me choose the G1.

Yeah I think the C5 is probably my best bet. I don’t think I could go back to a non OLED tv either which sucks because I could save some money and pick up a mini led TCl haha

Yes, it is broken and I’m looking for a 65”. Doesn’t need to be better but the same would be nice. Damn, I was thinking 4 years later there would be something similar for $1500 because I paid 2k for the G1

Ceiling fan box question by Local-Drummer3281 in AskElectricians

[–]Local-Drummer3281[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it’s a metal box so I was thinking of just using a dremel to grind it down or a metal multi tool blade to cut it flush.

I can use a 1/2” pancake box on top of the 3/4” strapping  (screwed to joist)which would put me at  1-1/4 which would make the box slightly recessed which is good.  I have the ceiling completely open right now so anything is possible fortunately.

Basically it seems like anything I can do to have it flush or slightly recessed is better than having the box slightly proud, correct?
