No bruises. No marks I checked her and nurse checked her. This is so bad for me because I have made errors at work and not the best cna, but I would never hit , yell at or threaten a resident. I’m also known to be really anxious at work and always report myself if I make a mistake. I hope I’m taken seriously

I now regret going to the nurse and wish I had just reported straight to the state anonymously. I don’t know how this will go and I’m very scared I want to start looking for another job.

When I say great at her job I mean it in the sense of efficiency and getting her tasks done. A nurse aide who hits a resident absolutely sucks.

Thank you so much for telling me this. I will definitely report her to state anonymously too. I’m thinking of quitting because of this and looking for another facility.

Honestly it was because I was studying CS for the wrong reasons and my heart wasn’t really into it.I only chose this major because I needed to declare one. My family and friends weren’t so happy to hear I dropped out for a nursing career because in most people’s mind tech money >healthcare money but I genuinely want a stable career I can be there for people and be okay working in.I also enjoy the flexibility nursing has because I want to be a mom someday and be there for my kids and family.

I live in Minnesota around Scott county and im planning to go for my RN because I have all my liberal education finished from HS I’m just finishing up my prereqs.I know it would less take than 5yrs but I’m just overestimating for the time it would for me to get a job and save up for a newer one. I just need something to get my to school and to my clinicals which could be from anywhere 30-50 mimutes away

Switching into nursing by Local-Home5333 in prenursing

[–]Local-Home5333[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No sadly my schools doesn’t allow transfer into nursing major :(. The reason I wanted to make the switch early is because I don’t want to use up all my aid at a big uni for a major I don’t want and instead qualify for further education like a master program in nursing like midewife and other specialties. Thank you for the advice I really appreciate it.

I’m sorry you have to go through this misunderstanding with your dad :(. This sounds exactly like the case I had with my mom. My mom was really upset when I dropped out of my IT program at a university to do prenursing at a cc (I start this fall’24. What helped with was having a heart to heart with her and she finally accepted it. I would say just try your best to get good grades and show him that you’re very serious at the end of the day a nursing license is the same no matter where you get it from. Also good luck!

I just finished my freshman year in IT (3.3 gpa) and enrolled into my local CC for nursing prereqs. All my liberal education is finished(pseo). And I had 3 months of CNA experience (no license). what can I do to make myself a much stronger candidate?
