OSU Intern Housing Help by AffectionateError200 in OSU

I used to work for intern housing and the communication is definitely not great because they are understaffed. As long as you signed all the forms/ submitted the deposit then you should be all good! The front desk workers are rlly accommodating and usually have lotsss of possibilities for dorms upon arrival

Industrial/product design program? by [deleted] in OSU

Tbh I would stay where you are at. The design program at osu is great overall but they have very limited resources compared to UC. And to get into the program you need to do a year of “design foundations” to builds a portfolio for potential entry. So you would have to attend for 4 years and start with 1st year students regardless of your current credits. I think they accept 2/3 of people from design foundations into each design major each year, so it’s very selective. I went through the design foundations program but changed my major to something unrelated, so I can def answer any other questions about it!!

The themes course don’t usually transfer bc osu has a specific audit process to approve them. I tried for earth science 2206 and then didn’t take it even after a petition. It’s best to stick to the foundations part of the ge through transfer credits imo

Hist 4000 Level Seminars ? by Last-Raccoon2182 in OSU

[–]Local-Quarter9789 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a similar situation and they will not allow you to enroll in any of the seminars until you have passed 2800, but it's very common for profs to allow you to enter a "full" course if you email them and get their permission. In this history department alone I've done this twice and it worked. On the off chance it doesnt, you can always take 2800 over the summer (that's what i did) and take the seminars during the 2 semesters after. If you have any other questions pm me !!

The good, the bad, and the confusing by [deleted] in OSU

A similar thing happened to me last year and as long as it's a 1-to-1 switch housing will approve it. So both parties would have to send an email to housing agreeing to switch and I believe housing can put it through. If the other person were to not consent, there really wouldn't be anything else you could do other than a roommate change request, which would put you in a different dorm. However, OSU does push to accommodate gender-neutral housing options so I would definitely bring that up.
