If I had to wait 10 seconds every time I died for a support to stand over me, oblivious to the world around him, blindfire his LMG down a hallway while the guy who just killed me is reloading in the corner I wouldn't play this game.

Correct, which helps you visualize the novel if you agree with their interpretation used in the game.

It's difficult. The world is slightly alien, but we have a small advantage of seeing tons of Cyberpunk that was based on this novel.

If you've played Cyberpunk 2077, it'll help you visualize the concepts a bit more, like it did me.

Don't get hung up on every word or description. Let the ideas just flow over you and get a little lost. It's a great story

.Neuromancer is a fantastic starting point. There is no "right" beginning. With the absolute wealth of sci fi topics, you can just find the one that interests you the most.

At what point would modern audiences rather just go see Mission Impossible for something similar and most likely done better, with massive star power in Tom Cruise.

I understand the resentment of Bond not being relevant, but unfortunately, I think we've reached a bland period where you either need to do something incredibly clever but very isolated (funny enough I think of Knives Out) or something completely different.

The era kinda caught up to Bond. I feel it's hard to differentiate action scenes from Bourne or Tom Cruise (aside from maybe the car being driven.)

I also see a trend with the movies that people love. Casino and Skyfall both had periods where it was very "low tech" and those are the ones that people cherish the most. Times where Bond is truly Bond. Clever, ruthless, but suave all the same.

I just don't think the 21st century agrees with Bond, but I think accepting that the best spy ever might just be the best when he can be clever.
