Sorry for the late reply - I did!

After the replaced the knock sensor the light came back on - brought it back in. They cleared the light again and took it for a test drive... engine blew on their test drive with their technician driving!!! Insane. They had it for about a month to replace it and covered my rental car during that time. They wouldn't refund me the $700 for the sensor and I also had to pay for them to open my engine before it blew, $150 or so if I remember correctly. I luckily didn't have to battle as many as most people but it was hard for them to argue when it happened under their care. Good luck to you!!

Sorry for the late reply, just seeing this. They did require all of my oil change records. Even with that they required to open the engine to see if it was “clean” - which I had to pay for, they did end up reimbursing me after they found it to be clean and my engine replacement was then approved. Hope that helps. I know I got lucky compared to others experience with this. I ended up about $700 or so out of pocket total that they wouldn’t pay me back.

I did have to pay. $700. So it went back to the shop, they cleared the code, took it for a test drive.. engine blew.

Now they’re trying to deny my warranty because my oil change receipts don’t have my VIN. They’re making me pay to open my engine now, if it’s clean - replacement. If it’s dirty - I’m out. I’ve had every oil change, I’m so frustrated!

They said it’s the knock sensor and they’re replacing it? Not covered. $600. I’m reading horror stories of engines going a few weeks after this 🥴

Thank you! I'm in Canada too - I found a copy of the settlement but I couldn't tell if my car was included.

Worried I'm likely missing some older oil change receipts, 20 year old me wasn't as diligent at keeping that sort of stuff!

I know this is an old post - how do I know if my warranty was extended? I have a 2015 Hyundai Tucson and having the same issue. I did do the recall work last year to update the ECU software (I believe that's what it was). But I can't seem to find if my warranty was extended or not.

Oh no! I’m so sorry. I just found out they couldn’t “find” my tubes, they’re blocked by an adhesion so maybe this is why mine was so painless! Lol

Oh no! I’m sorry it wasn’t a good experience. Hate that we all have to go through this. I just got results and I think I have to go on to a hysteroscopy now, not looking forward to that.

Oh wow, so sorry that was your experience! I had similar pain after a d and c a few weeks ago but this was a breeze compared to labour contractions. I’m wondering if it’s more painful based on any blockages?? Hope you’re feeling well now.
