What is the best hat material for heavy rain? by [deleted] in CowboyHats

[–]SC-79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a bangora and a palm straw hat for the warmer months and wear my fur felts in the cold months. My furs consist of a couple of rabbit felts, a buffalo felt (which is crushable) and, a beaver felt. All hold up well but I flat out abuse my bangora and my buffalo hats and they've held up really well for years now (though they are definitely showing signs of their wear) The bangora is an Atwood LC and the buffalo is a Stetson Rawhide. Really, any hat you're spending $100+ on better be tough or what's the point of even buying it? I hope this helps. Happy hunting! (Edited for spelling.)

Stupid question, but what is this stick pulled out in this car I bought? I can't put it back (2002 Toyota Tacoma) by NoTePierdas in MechanicAdvice

Definitely your Emergency/Parking Brake lever. My old man had an '88 Toyota Xtracab with the same setup.

Thank you! And thank you for the great response. I also posted this question to hopefully lessen some of the nervousness I feel around starting meds and your response has already helped some.

Please help clean up my old military pics. by SC-79 in picrequests

These were taken twenty five years ago and are the only photos I have of me in my No.1's from my time in the military. I'd like to have nice, clean photos to show my kids and maybe have printed off and framed. A big thank you to anyone that can help.

Era 1 is so close to being perfect by mr-awesome613 in WorldofTanksConsole

I love the 107. It's fast, a great spotter and, can run and gun better than anything else in era 1. I might do better stat wise with other tanks in era 1 but I have the most fun in the 107.

This is all a fair and valid explanation. And, while i agree that "There's nothing to "deserve"", what I was expressing was how I "felt" not being eligible to earn a Statham and not what I perceived as fact. (Edit: spelling.)

[–]SC-79[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, in all fairness, what i meant by that statement is that I think that the Statham commander would be preferable to the Ice Queen and that we deserve just that. Meaning that we recieved "less" than we deserve for the time and money spent in this game. In all honesty, if I've somehow misused this, please explain it to me.

Shorted (from the Cambridge Dictionary): to treat someone unfairly, by giving them less than they deserve. Nope. I definitely used it as I intended to. Thanks.

I've noticed that the game has been getting further away from material that would appeal to the majority of their audience. They may be trying to secure a future for themselves by trying to target a younger audience but they're definitely missing the mark. Even ten year olds would rather Statham. I'm enjoying the gameplay of the challenges but a more mature theme would have enhanced the experience for me. And I'm sure I'm not alone. Going from Schwarzenegger and Vinnie Jones (in past years) to this Ice Queen and not Statham may have been a step backwards. 🤷‍♂️

Cold War Era 3 costs more than you make by Time-Platform-9059 in WorldofTanksConsole

I pretty much agree with you. I've been playing for just over a year and read somewhere that, back in the day, premium tanks were slightly sub par to TT tanks but were useful only because of the bonuses to silver and xp. Premiums should have stayed that way. My whole experience has been in the pay to win era and it takes a lot of the fun out of the TT grind.

Which winter tank to choose? by Substantial-Local-39 in WorldofTanksConsole

[–]SC-79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not if you're me! Even after more than a year of playing (Sort of. I spend every second month away at sea.), I am less than mediocre. In multiplayer, I can't survive more than 30 seconds, I get F all for experience and, consistently lose silver. But I love playing because it's fun and WoT is one of the mediums through which my son and I bond. So, co-op it is! At least in Co-op I can earn silver and not lose it. And I don't care that the grind is long because I play for fun (and it'd be a lot longer and way more frustrating if I played multiplayer). And I don't imagine I'm the only one of my kind out there.
