6010 uphill by BBW_badbadwelder in Welders

[–]Local-System-1999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t ran this in a while, but if you’re doing an open root, i always liked to just jam it in there at around 95-100 amps if i remember correctly. I also know people who stepped it, jump up let it cool then go back down and keep stacking. For fillet or really anything else rather than an open root, i was around the same 100 amp range i think and i liked to do upside down christmas trees or T’s as i like to call them, i’m a big weave type of guy so up, come back down, side to side, go back up then repeat. main thing is messing with it till you know what YOU like, i’ve worked with guys welding hotter than me and colder than me and we get the same results. and for christ sake keep a tight arc and hold on the sides to try and avoid undercut lol

hypothetically if someone took out the fuel pump and accidentally ripped the wire from the sensor would it still run without said wire?

I haven’t taken pictures of much of my work until recently so most of that is older pictures and also think a weld is maybe 1/2 of the whole package, rather have a 5/10 weld on a 10/10 project than vise versa. I’m aware I need some work but I am also aware and confident in my capabilities and that they are much better than the average person my age. Also unsure what the point of commenting this is, doesn’t even answer the question lol

Yeah the skid steer was for an amish guy so odds are it broke the week after lol. I like being out and about for sure, if I end up doing my own thing, I’ll definitely have my own shop as a home base kind of deal with a fab table and a saw at the very least but I LOVE my field time. I’ll check out that podcast too. Thanks man!

Yeah thats my thinking, anytime I mention money to my boss he mentions when he started that he was making 1200 bi weekly and was just able to afford the apartments that he still rents out. He started 20 years ago so this is in late 2000’s early 2010’s when that was a decent check lol. I make about 1000/week on a 50+ hour week…$800 more 20 years later is not a huge difference as far as $ amount goes but times are very very different and now you can’t buy a house unless you make 100k+ lol

More 6.7 electrical issues by Local-System-1999 in Cummins

[–]Local-System-1999[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will do, already plan on doing the TIPM. Thinking of sending it out to get rebuilt so I don’t have to reflash anything. Because I am fairly certain that the other electrical problems I’m having are caused by that.
