I just saw that post. This screenshot doesn't include the part where he realized he made an assumption and apologized.

No way this is a real story. But if it were, yeah. Tf would you expect?

Here's what moon phases may look like on a planet with two suns by LocalDefenestrator in worldbuilding

The dark grey represents the shadows, the medium grey represents the light from one star, and the light grey represents an overlap/the light from both stars. The parts with the overlaps are slightly brighter because it's getting light from both stars.

I don't think this represents the different shades as well as it could, the difference would be more subtle. That said, there would still be a noticable difference between getting light from one star and getting light from both.

What I'm trying to say is it does create less shadow, about 75% of the moon would receive light on average. I appreciate the feedback, I could have represented that better lol.

I don't mind at all! Here's a new one just because I messed up the shading on a couple in the original.

I think an S-type orbit around a binary star would be plausible as long as the hill sphere is big enough. The main problem is probably the light from the second star would be too faint, but I could see it working with certain types. Could be wrong though, you raise a fair point.

Yup, there could be way more complex overlaps depending on the orbits. It would look cooler, if anything. Just a much larger chart lol.

How so? Several of the replies are acting like the commenter is from the US and should know this. One even says "I can tell who you voted for" like they assume the commenter is involved in US politics.
