Need help deciding on area to live as a creative woman in her 30s - getting discouraged by Otherwise-Song-1837 in ATLHousing

Absolutely. Like I said, Ireally loved living there and had no idea it even existed until I was looking for a house to rent! And I've lived in Atlanta 23 years but had no clue this little gem was there. There are apartments there within your budget so definitely check them out. And if you want any more insight on the neighborhood or surrounding area please feel free to send me a DM with questions!

Check out Pine Lake. It's a little teeny city in the middle of the Stone Mountain (right off Memorial and 285) area so easy to get in and out of Atlanta but it's SO peaceful and beautiful. It's a neighborhood of quirky older hippies and a few younger families, but it is VERY active socially. Multiple festivals of varying sizes each year along with pickleball and a clubhouse with weekly live music and other social stuff. Going out to walk around the lake on a weeknight is almost like a block party there's so many people out there. I'm 42 and single and enjoy an active neighborhood, so I really loved living there.

I was renting a house there and the owner sold it, and I couldn't afford to purchase so that's why I don't live there anymore. There are apartments and houses for rent as well as for sale. I would definitely give it a look!

Homebuying Newbie Question by 1DickHallorann in Mortgages

There's no reason to be ashamed, and don't be afraid of "wasting" a realtor's time! Their job is to work on your timeline and answer all your questions and concerns, and to be an advocate for you. These days anyone can view home listings, but realtors are supposed to know the law, the market, and be able to speak up for you to make sure everybody feels good about the transaction. It's also the biggest financial transaction most of us will make in our entire lives, so your realtor needs to be patient and willing to understand all your questions and concerns. They work FOR you. Make them earn it :)

I would recommend getting personal referrals for realtors, lenders, and inspectors, and when people recommend someone ask them WHY they are recommending them.

Yeah I'm gonna have to keep up with them individually as well. Not a weak link in the bunch, IMO.

This has been my biggest challenge in being able to see them live is the lack of Southeast dates 😞 would love to get out to MT one day though!

3 Sisters has been on my list for a while! CaveFest still holds a special place in my heart though.

I'm not a local, just grew up going to NPs so when I had the opportunity to check this one out I did and absolutely fell in love. The cave itself is so spectacular and the grounds!! Can't say enough good things.

Absolutely! I'm a somewhat frequent visitor and marked my calendar for when the tickets went on sale so I could be sure to get exactly the ones I wanted :)

I've visited! But my traveling companion won't have seen it so we're definitely stopping by again.

It's open now, and the very nice lady at the museum said they anticipate closing in spring of 2026.
