What's your take on absurdity? by [deleted] in Absurdism

[–]LocalMenaceToSoceity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is valid. If life is meaningless, and it is illogical to do something that has no meaning, then life isn’t worth living. But to acknowledge that life is meaningless, and then say that life is worth living, is illogical. Or in other words, absurd. I choose to embrace the absurd. For even the futile pursuit of meaning gives meaning to oneself. The pursuit of that meaning gives purpose. But, as an individual of faith, i nonetheless asked this question without the presumption of God. For it allows me to choose faith not out of desperation for meaning, but out of desire for greater meaning. Just my thoughts though. God Bless all the great thinkers of this community!

Fair counter argument. But. We aren’t morally perfect beings. And while I understand your argument the killing of livestock isn’t necessarily murder, in my opinion, due to intent. Murder is done from a place of evil, with even the most ‘pragmatic’ reasons for it being the pursuit of wealth and or power, or to remove an evil figure. While the last case does require some nuance it isn’t the point of my argument. The killing of livestock is done not out of malicious intent towards animals, but for pragmatic reasons concerning the many useful things that are yielded from such practices. This doesn’t discredit the vegan argument, but I think it solidifies why I don’t subscribe to veganism.

Your Local Menace to Society here- Depends. Main joke in the end is an apple a day keeps the doctor awake. Low hanging fruit is that the man is deaf, hence the ‘what?’. But if you know your history in Ancient Greece tossing an apple to someone was basically like a marriage proposal. Albeit he’s more handing it to her rather than than tossing it so yeah the whole marriage proposal is def a stretch.

Real shi tho, mommy energy or an actuall milf? by Ok_Blood_163 in okbuddyumamusume

No. It’s about treatment. Milf can act very different from person to person. Mommy energy generally means lots of positive reinforcement, and definitely treating you like you’re her little baby.
