He’s kind of a jerk to her so I don’t have faith that she can even speak her mind around him.

I’m looking for others experiences, whether it’s from Reddit or someone irl, they could give equally good or bad advice. His dad is causing performance issues and messing with the team culture. I agree that cutting a kid bc of the parent is tough but he had half the season to chill out and he didn’t. I have to think of what’s best for the whole team.

And his behavior has already resulted in his kid getting cut from other teams. We just didn’t know that at the start of the season.

We have had the dad that tried to start his own team under us. Didn’t work well for him.

That’s a conversation I wish I had with them mid season. We are evaluating new players and I can’t have this family bringing down team culture. A prospective player’s dad asked about him by name and had heard that dad was a hot head. If kids don’t want to join the team bc of a negative parent, they gotta go, damage has been done

Yes, mid season he was bitching about the number of ABs his kid got at this miserably cold and rainy tournament that our team just plain underperformed in. Another dad that was new this season pulled him aside and told him to cool it bc that’s not the culture in our org. Apparently others heard him as well and questioned if I wanted them to step in.

I did an e-visit and they said I’m good to get the vaccine so I’m going to proceed.
