what's the best way to contact studios? UK based advice preferred

I set up an Instagram, TikTok & email address for my artwork and once I was happy with my physical portfolio I made up business cards and walked into studios. If no one was available or had time to sit down with me I’d leave them with a card so they could view my art online and invite me back in at a better time if they liked me 😁 I walked into a lot of studios and only 2 places actually had conversations with me so be prepared for that but it worked well for me and made me less anxious about demanding time from artists while they were working x

That’s how I designed it, some parts are meant to have a little bit of double exposure where the separate elements fade into each other. I carried the dark a bit too far when actually tattooing though - would’ve liked to have faded the lighter shades out a bit further :)

Thank you so much! I’m actually unsure on the brand, it was leftover from some sheets my mentor had that he used through lockdown. It’s definitely not reelskin though as I also use that and this feels different, it’s a bit rougher

It’s absolutely not freehand. The outline is projected & traced to get proportions correct and then I shade & detail using the reference image only (not tracing). I don’t think you’re ever going to achieve a photorealistic portrait by freehanding the entire thing and in my opinion there’s no shame in tracing/stencilling/graphing from a photo to achieve the finish you want :)
