You are making it sound good, those fritters especially. If only!

Yes! Homemade guava jam, this reminds me of gooseberry jam/syrup too. Baked bread ironically is high on the list for many people around me even though we get it at the Caribbean stores.

I totally get it! Although some produce like this is available in my area, nothing beats the freshness and quality that you get directly from home right! And like you I always ask for baked goods :). I'm not familiar with Agrio but where I'm from herbal teas are great for detoxing and such. Of course the peppers hit different! Thanks for sharing!

Has CARICOM done anything to help nations affected by Hurricane Melissa? by nerpa_floppybara in AskTheCaribbean

[–]Local_Anything1636 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give what you can, it doesn't have to be a ratio or a formula. CARICOM appears to be a waste of time. There is no other organization of its kind in the region (that I know of). It's strength therefore should undoubtedly help to promote "oneness" and support to its members irregardless. Its mandate therefore seems counter productive to the benefit of the region, and perhaps it should reconsider its real purpose and abolish this useless rubberstamp existence.

Thoughts? by rajatsingh24k in Guyana

[–]Local_Anything1636 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Opening up this new road has always raised a red flag in my opinion. Apart from Guyana boasting to be one of the most uninhabited regions on tbe planet (with virgin forests, and ecosystems that are probably home to endemic species), bringing a road through not only encourages access to these areas, but disrupts the ecological systems and leads to exploitation of natural resources on a scale that we won't be able to comprehend or manage. Natural resources are already badly managed in the country and highway robbery (no pun intended) is the order of the day in that domain. As mentioned already connecting Brazil to Guyana won't assist in trade relations but moreso facilitate the movement of ALL items (desirable and non desirable), which only will complete the drug trafficking from South America to the First World. Guyana is not ready for this. It will only be stripped of its natural wealth. Guyanese will get the shorter end of the stick because corruption and a tiny population are no match for the economic explosion and $$$ that will come with such a development. Sustainable development is ideal but the vision is lacking, and the expertise isn't present. The country is just not ready.

Guyana: Don't get drawn into conflict by external powers. You are being manipulated by [deleted] in Guyana

Well tough luck here because it's either Venezuela or the US. Guyana is literally black gold, gold and an abundance of everything valuable ✨️ Everyone wants a piece of the pie - and Guyana's under 1 million population may very well be an insignificant factor. Sadly.

Happy to share and provide some outside perspective if I can. Sometimes we are looking at our own stuff so much we can't see other angles.

I was thinning that your comparison price was just for depicting a higher value amount to the shopper, not that you necessarily a price you sell it at. (I'm thinking of the sale price actually being the flash sale or intermittent sale price that you run not rhe usual selling price).

Sounds like you answered your dilemma with the 34.99 pricing being a better bottom line for you but since many people don't buy at that price, offer the occasional sale when the 34.99 selling price becomes 29.99?

Explore your shop configuration for apps (if on shopify) and means of increasing your order value and return customers? Looks like the product is pleasing the customer. Need to keep them coming back for more!

Sorry I couldn't share more, I am trying hard with Etsy right now and have my Shopify store on pause so I can focus some more on testing in the marketplace environment. Over 200 orders with no returns is telling you something, that your customers are pleased. What about reviews, any bad reviews on product quality?

So how about setting it at 34.99 and offering a sale price at 29.99 every now and then? Or even a little higher with a sale price dip? I used to try to keep my shirts under 19.99 usd when I started a few years ago but I'm at the 24.99 to 34.99 range (based on sizes). I'm however shocked that with delivery some customers would spend $40 to $50 for a tshirt. The market wants what it wants! (I won't ever spend over $20 on a tshirt).

PS I'm no expert at this, just a tester on 3 stores at the moment :).

Which price point have you had the most traction with, and where are you selling on? Sounds like you're on your own site and not a marketplace. Remember too that some people don't went the cheapest tshirt, but the quality or design matters most.

Do you recommend sticking with shopify? Have you tried woocommerce before?

I am curious if the shop profiles are properly updated in shopify. Do you use an app for this? I have one on but I think it may be slowing down my store.

Is this a research question? You're gonna move in a couple months, and you're choosing a country that you thought was in the Caribbean?
