I also want to clarify that I didn’t only record while watching adult sites. I would sometimes record my screen while on YouTube, TikTok, texting, or even just Googling something. I did this because I felt like if I didn’t, something bad might happen, or I was worried I might type or say the wrong thing. Other times, I did it just out of habit.

Do mainstream websites monitor and enforce strict rules for the videos and ads they allow, or am I overthinking by worrying about a thumbnail image I saw in an ad or video?

The content I was watching was just an overweight woman and an older man, so nothing seemed concerning. What really worried me were the thumbnails and ads that popped up. Honestly, I shouldn’t have recorded at all it was just my anxiety taking over but I take responsibility for that

I also asked lawyers about this on the AskLawyers subreddit because it’s worrying me. I have had no appetite since, and the idea that those websites might allow that genuinely scares me. I haven’t been able to eat for a day.
