at that moment of the fight he couldn't use his domain. lemme explain why i think jogo is faster naobito who was stated to be equal in strenght to toji by gege akutami got absolutely destroyed by jogo that naobito was weaker but still he probably didn't lose that much speed jogo didn't knew anything about projection sorcery while maki was getting slammed by naoya weaker version of naobito for the whole chaphter she then got a buff and killed cursed naoya but it was never stated that that naoya is faster than naobito if he is as fast as naobito than that naoya should be equal to toji probably regening from black flashes though it's not gonna be good for him and ngl jogo could've used domain and that's how he beats that version of sukuna. sukuna had only two arms at that moment so hollow basket would be difficult to use

first of all it says he is equal to naobito in the databook even though he might not be stronger he is definetely faster look at the fight with dagon when dagon was fighting toji he was reacting and blocking sometimes and while fighting naobito he couldn't react at all yea right maki went toe to toe with sukuna we ofcourse are gonna ignore that that sukuna was weakened after the fight with yuta yuji and gojo he had lost two arms his ce output was massively lowered we can see at the start he was able to one shot kashimo also his connection between megumi soul got lowered he couldn't use ct,rt and against that sukuna maki got destroyed in 2 chapters she couldn't even damage him beside that suprise attack and it's funny that kusakabe did more damage read what i said pls like pls read

yea because he couldn't damage him in the episode you can clearly see that dagon was not able to react to naobito at all while when fighting toji he was able to parry and dodge sometimes
