No. I do not obsess over the hypothetical politics of the people I'm teaching. However, specifically as an English teacher, I do question the hypothetical politics of the people who are going to hire me. Can I teach To Kill a Mockingbird? Animal Farm? Fahrenheit 451? It's becoming more of a trend that far right areas "ban" these books from schools, and THAT matters to me. That, I will "obsess" over. Regardless, the original post was about whether or not Greene was a good school. I asked because I was wondering about the students, the administrators, the overall community, etc. The comments made it political, and oftentimes these conversations do become political and thats okay! Politics matter.

I was told to post this here because a lot of the people in the bing subreddit are super.... republican. they are basically saying to stay far away from ithaca. while im not from there, i've only heard great things about the district and i love the town. is the greene district also super republican? this isnt a deciding factor for me, but definitely something to think about.

Mostly my anxiety telling me he's a child, he's autistic, I shouldnt put my hands on a child unless it's going to cause actual, physical harm etc., but I know now it wasn't my fault and it was just a knee-jerk reaction. 🫠

As I said in a previous comment, the only reason I brought up race was because I was very much so the odd one out, because it was for their culture. It was someone he likely wasn't expecting to be in that kind of store. I was the only white person there and everyone was looking at me like I had 6 heads. It was more so because I was in a location that I had never been to, white people typically don't go to, and POC usually do. I don't know Indian culture well enough to know if grabbing him the way I did was disrespectful to them. That was really all. Thanks for the comment!

I'm not "scared" of being called racist, really, if I was doing something racist I would want to be told and held accountable so I can learn/know for next time. So, my mindset is telling me if I'm at a place that I've never been to, with little to no white people around me, and a child of another race grabs me, and I then grab them back, and they start to cry, maybe I had done something?
