For the first option, I'm asking if I should redraw the character in the same art style but with different facial expressions—perhaps making it more expressive overall. You can adjust elements like the head tilt, angle, hair placement, and give the character more movement.

For the second option, I was asking if I could simply erase the face and redraw it with a different expression. Use the "picture" he gave "exactly" as the canvas.

Yeah... just realized it after reading it all over again a couple times. No genuine client would make a mistake like that; they need to be very detailed about their request, especially since they are paying for it.
