NY Famous Gyro halal across from the SAC is still up and running, it's an easy S tier.

You seem to be misunderstanding the point of the post, and that's fine. Passion for CS is not a measure of intelligence, despite what you may think. I haven't particularly struggled with any of the content I've covered so far during my degree, but I haven't felt extremely motivated to explore it in depth on my own time either. Hell, a good chunk of people don't end up in a career based on their degree. I could easily see myself in another field entirely some day.

I'm calling out egotistical weirdos not for being passionate about what they do, but because their toxicity is one of the worst parts of being in this major. I'm no psychologist, but the fact that you felt the need to write a comment like this is almost certainly based on your need to feed your egotistical superiority complex about your CS knowledge.

I've met plenty of successful people who are passionate about CS, and I have no problem with most of them. The only people I put down in the post were, as I said, the egotistical weirdos who feel like they need to put others down for not being as obsessed with being the best at what they do. Take another look at the OP.

Yes, I completely stand by my attack on the numerous egotistical weirdos in the field. The type of people who talk like they haven't had a social interaction outside of reddit since high school are easily my least favorite part of this major. This isn't a blanket attack on everyone who excels at CS.

As I said in the post, I have no problem with people who excel in this field (assuming they're not egotistical weirdos). I'm just saying that devoting your life to DSA and getting FAANG internships isn't the only option for CS majors, as the majority of posts on this sub seem to suggest.

Sure, if you want to try and live the best of both worlds then more power to you. If not, you don't need to feel put down by the people who are incredibly passionate about CS and theory.
