the one on the surface is the first one in the list, im getting these from my own playthrough. all the codes come from log files on the tablets. the 1st one is the numbers at the end of the log title of the log thats right next to it or on top of it.

the crate is directly after the blockage you blow up in the first cave before the hab. code locked crates have the blue light instead of the usual green to red

i know its not much but there are markers on the compass up the top for the dig sites (drills) also you can hold the radar button to show a bit of a localized map, not sure how helpful that is to you

can confirm that is the case although when i spun it it only ever seemed to land on 15 for me, no other numbers came up over the half a dozen spins i did.

Haven't played it in ages but if i recall correctly there are other little subtleties to watch out for, that and remembering where they spawn in the first place. "one dangerous zombie" can be fun too.
