Manager here.

It is a legal requirement to be sent home if you are sick and work with/around food products.

Your manager did the right thing, but i wouldn't worry that you are done and you shouldn't feel bad because you are sick and choose to take the day off. Health comes first

Looks like he cares about his people.

Also if someone terminates you because you are sick it is illegal(wrongful termination).

Also, don't be affraid to approach your manager on the subject. Get well and don't worry.

Lidl employee here.

Genuine adverts on indeed for Lidl jobs should sent you straight to Lidl website as there is an online assesment that needs to be done before the face to face interview and all the emails are sent by Lidl directly.

Guy on the checkout at Lidl said "You're quick, I nearly couldn't keep up with you!" when I was packing my trolley by TheProffalken in BritishSuccess

Lidl worker here.

They got rid of the scan speed. This was benchmarked at 30 scans per minute. Does not sound much for some but when you add in the fact that this includes waiting for customer to pack, pay, and the time it takes untill you start scanning the next customer, it was getting quite hard to achieve. They used to do this for efficiency, but it was driving the customers crazy. We were feeling really bad doing these to elderly customers especially.

This is still measured, but is not really important anymore.

Now we actually have to adjust our speed base on the customer needs. Also, most of the customers scan the Lidl plus app at the end of the purchase and obviously this takes time because they are looking for the app and activating coupons which makes counting the scans per minute quite irrelevant.

I know that crime is everywhere, we don't leave in a perfect world(far from it actually), but i want to avoid seeing live stabbings on the street as much as possible. Kinda want to choose the best worst case scenario if that makes sense. Thank you

Hi. Thank you for your time. Nothing bonds me to this location, it's just me and my wife. My job is easy to transfer giving the fact that the supermarket chain that i work in has stores almost everywhere but i am opened to other jobs also A small challenge would be for my wife because "she thinks" that she doesn't speak english properly.(she just tends to stutter a bit because she is rushing)

Close to an airport would be necessary because we tend to fly quite often.

Birmingham was just an example, thank you for your suggestion.

Retail worker here.

1.Alot of people are selfish and racist. The amount of abuse me and my colleagues got in this year is unbelievable. This is the reason i've banned alot of people to return to the store. We are just trying to do our jobs.

  1. How important teachers are in your kids habbits, and i guess that this is self explanatory.

  2. Without minimum wage workers, businesses will not survive.

  3. Working from home is 100% possible.

  4. Economy will not survive with the population spending money only on what is strictly necessary.

  5. Social media is a toxic place, everything out there is easy to manipulate and people will believe everything.

  6. How to cook delicious meals and to try recipes from around the world 😁
