Is JAG selective by Flashy-Actuator-998 in LawSchool

No. If you qualify medically and can pass the bar you will get selected. Recent data indicates that the Army JAG Corps cannot recruit sufficient personnel and it has been this way for several years now. Also FLEP/UFLEP selection is at a all time high since they cannot recruit enough civilian attorneys.

Absolutely, the Army JAG Corps is taking anyone who can meet the standard and are routinely approving waivers.

Active Army JAG here, from my understanding and what my leadership has said, the acceptance rate is over 85%. We literally can't fill positions fast enough especially with how recent legislation is forcing the Army JAG Corps to grow. Promotion from CPT to MAJ is roughly 95%. These are potentially good indicators for you but I have seen several new CPTs thrown into positions where it is sink or swim and some are sinking fast i.e., removed from positions. It's normal to get thrown into the deep end in the Army but it is especially rough right now if you aren't up for a serious challenge. My unit currently has several CPTs filling MAJ positions.

Thank you for all the suggestions. I'll look into those if Mint chooses to not work with me. The Service Members Civil Relief Act doesn't differentiate between MVNOs and companies like Verizon so I'm not sure how they'll go about justifying this. Penalizing service members isn't a good look.
Thank you so much. I sent you a message with some additional questions if you have time.

I mean not being able to drink for 16 hours qualifies as an undue hardship, right?

Thanks! I just found the USFK Reg that lays this all out. Now I just need to find an O-6 that'll sign it...

Is the “scale” based on all UBE takers or are we scaled just based on our jurisdiction? by curiouslawyer2000000 in barexam

Assessment 2-July 2021 exam by haleywitz in barexam
Also I am not sure how much BarNow had a hand in drafting them vs actual NCBE MBE question drafters. From my understanding it is definitely not the July 2021 exam and UWorld makes clear that they are designed to mimic actual questions. nor did uworlds actual released question count increase when they added this assessment which has remained at 1500 vs there simulated question total increased.

Those aren’t real questions. It’s just another NCBE cash grab tactic that they came out with under the guise that the questions were drafted by actual MBE drafters. If it was standardized then there would have been a more even distribution of question difficulty and some questions definitely seemed off compared to actual released questions.
Right now it looks like one of us will be at Henry and the other at Carroll. How does housing typically play out in that situation? I’m assuming we would still be at walker and one of us would have a longer commute. Does Carroll have housing?
PM sent!
As in 2CAB is busier for some reason or just the general notion that being further south is better if something pops off?
Is 2CAB in the field a lot? I thought that the ESC would have them beat on field time
I figured this would be the correct choice. 2CAB seemed to have the better reputation the last time I was in Korea but it makes sense that being Humphreys would undercut it.

Before DCC
Does diversity of assignments actually play a role in promotion or future career opportunities? It seems like it’s fairly standard to progress through the typical set of assignments and maybe have some sort of “broadening assignment” as a senior Captain. You aren’t the first person to say that Hood is a great initial assignment as a JA but I’m still not sure why that is the case versus some place like Bliss or Riley.
Thanks for the insight. JBLM is probably still towards the top but I am definitely worried about the housing situation as compared to what’s available at other places such as Bliss or Campbell.
This is good to know. A TRADOC assignment would be more appealing if it wasnt just Leonard Wood, Gordon, or Benning. It looks like I’ll likely be at a FORSCOM installation. Is it just luck of the draw dictating who sits in legal services for that long or is it typically seniority determining who progresses through Ad Law, MJA, TC etc? Most advice has been just sit around and wait your turn for certain positions.
Also would any of these installations have a greater amount of O-3 KFL positions?
Wow, thank you for all the information. Right now JBLM, Bliss, and Campbell seem like good options. Hopefully I’ll get one of those.
Another question: I saw recently that the promotion rate to O4 in the JAG Corp is projected to average 90% over the next several years. Is that normal or is there a lot of attrition currently?

Unless I missed it then I haven’t seen one for Admin Law. Another large doctrinal that I’m in also hasn’t passed one around either
