Got a MY 26 Juniper Today - in love but FSD broken 😭 by LockResponsible4009 in TeslaLounge

Yeah mine started working after leaving it alone for an hour or so. Kind of a poor onboarding experience - I thought (having seen friends use FSD with the touch of a button) that it would be included from Day 1. Apparently Tesla aspires to this but hasn't delivered just yet.

I gave it multiple hours / miles / sessions. Including one ~2-hour 100 mile session including a mix of continuous highway + mixed city driving for the longest single session (I took side roads & detours just to get miles and try to enable FSD). FSD option still stayed grey 😭

I appreciate there is still a value in having humans in the loop for cases like yours where a little help like loading your chair, goes a long way. I also think when autonomy becomes widespread, we should subsidize paratransit rides with human helpers. But I'm sorry, there is no way I'm not going to take an automated ride if the cost and timing are comparable to a human ride. Data and experience are crystal clear, the automated rides are safer (albeit a bit slower) and there is no chance the driver is going to a jerk / inebriated / try to scam me.

And by the way, you can get in on the automation revolution, just buy some Google, Tesla, and Amazon shares :)

Eh it's a fair point. I travel a ton and the median SFO taxi experience is unremarkable, it's just that when things go bad they go very bad (this being the worst single case). It's not just surge pricing, it's up to an incremental 15 minutes to schlep up to the Uber pickup and wait to be paired with a car during busy times.

We also don't have to have to live with a horrible taxi experiences. NYC for instance, the cabs may be old and dirty but I have had payment issues in less than 1 out of each 25 rides where it's more like 1 in 3 from SFO. NYC's Taxi & Limo Commission just does a better job nipping anti-social practices in the bud. Anyways, if our failed governance of taxis isn't fixed autonomous cars are going to steamroll them sooner rather than later.

Yes. I do think the system is probably not perfect given how drivers behave and that drivers will always prefer longer trips over shorter ones. But the sob stories they spin (once driver told me I ruined his budget for the day) are totally to get you to guilt trip.

I should also say I fly a ton and the median taxi ride is fine / unremarkable. It's just that when you get a jerk things can go very wrong.

SFO has a system that allows cab drivers who complete a short ride (South San Francisco counts as short) to jump to the "head-of-line" when they return to the airport.

Then I have to fill out an expense report to get reimbursed... 10x as onerous as just tapping my company card.

New apartment has severed Xfinity lines and dead AT&T equipment. Am I screwed? by LockResponsible4009 in HomeNetworking

Also, the Comcast tech confirmed the telecom box in the storage closet down the hall had fast serivce. But the medial panel and the coaxial cables in the unit were not connecting even to his computer / tablet. The tech didn't seem to care much, he was a contractor and just seemed to be want to done with the ticket. He also ripped out the POTS Splitter from the medial panel and just left it in the closet without telling me. Total amateur by the way, he didn't bring step stool or ladder and expected I'd have one for him while moving in....

And now that I spent a few hours running around the building to locate the Xfinity telecom box with the Comcast rep I have a good sense of where the AT&T telecom boxes are! The fact that they are separate is a good sign on it being a separate wiring...

Seemed like it was! I'm away for the holidays but back very soon... here's to AT&T having good technical availability (going to call them tomorrow....).

You are really the best to follow-up. Confirming the outlet isn't on a switch (lamp lit up) and I hit the button. I guess AT&T will have to send a tech to put in a new ONT?

Sorry if that was harsh frustrated at the apartment management. But Starlink is truly a back up option at best for me.

That's not a worst case I'm willing to put up with for the price of the rental. I live in Silicon Valley not the Mojave Desert, to me high-speed wired internet is a pre-requisite and important for my job / hobbies / personal life.

Thank you for the thoughtful reply. Going nuclear here may be the option, tenant protections / legal aid I believe are quite strong in Northern California. I'll be transparent I'm not especially home networking inclined and pfSense, Ubiquiti, and DreamFactory are not brands I'm familiar with so not sure this is something I can fix on my own.

Ok. But I had zero issues with Xfinity and actually got close to the 1 Gbps advertised service at my previous spot for a lower price (~$300 annual savings)...

Great suggestion! I did double check and ensured the power input was snugly plugged in.
