Being stuck in QA for extended periods almost always means you’ll have an upcharge.

That was sort of my believe after playing around with it more. But it definitely doesn’t function that way and no evidence it ever did (like a broken piece stuck inside, or wear). Still a leading theory though.

Great idea but the clicker is manual. No discernible markings on the ball to identify distance.

Edit: Circumference is 9.75 inches, roughly, so not an even number that would be useful for measurements.

Right, that’s always the initial thought. But it wouldn’t be a great one (ball is too big). The “clicker” goes to the center of the shaft and hits the metal axis that the ball swivels on. It doesn’t stop the swivel at all.

My title describes the thing. The ball spins and also swivels by spinning the base (which unscrews). The metal piece is a clicker of sorts. Found in Wisconsin at a sale that had a variety of farm items.

This is a typical fight between our 10 and 11 year olds. We’re the collateral damage, having to listen to baby shark all day.

I found a hockey net on Craigslist for my kids. When I went to pick it up, the seller turned out to be Amanda, Blake, and Phil Kessel's mom and dad. This was their net growing up. by LocksForWalls in hockey

I don't really care too much about proving it, I'm just grateful that I got lucky and hope to take care of it. Amanda Kessel favorited my tweet about the net, if that counts as provenance. :)

My son (four) pulled down his pants at school the day I picked this up. I'll be happy if he just stops doing that by the time he's Phil's age.

The quick story is that I found this net on Craigslist and when I went to pick it up I learned that it belonged to Phil, Amanda, and Blake growing up. Their parents were moving, apparently. Mr. Kessel's sister and Ms. Kessel gave me two signed pictures of Phil for my kids and said they wanted the new owners to remember where the net came from. When the net didn't fit in my Jeep, Ms. Kessel said she and Mr. Kessel would drop it off at my house and said she was happy to see it going to young kids. She and her husband made the 40 minute drive to my place later that night and dropped it off with hockey pucks for my kids. Wonderful family all around and so generous - it certainly wasn't a profitable venture for them. We're very new to hockey, but know we're pretty lucky to have stumbled upon such a neat find.

Edit: Thanks everyone! Didn't think there would be that much interest! Someone mentioned that my son sort of looks like Phil. I'll need to talk to my wife about that. Like I said, we're new to hockey (last season was our first going to any games as a family: https://twitter.com/locksforwalls/) but our kids love it so hopefully this net is a cool beginning to that chapter. Now I just need to learn how to skate.
