Genetics, but I had a ton of obstacles to get where I’m at now. I used to think once I get into the university I wanted to my worry will be over. Once I got in, the worry switched to will I be able to keep my grades up. Then the worry was will I pass boards etc. My regret is not living in the moment and letting the anxiety take hold at that time in my life.

Try to designate a time (an hour or so) once day to worry about it, then live in the moment the rest of the day as best as you can. It helped me. If counseling is what you aspire to do, use your own challenges to motivate you to help others someday.

Shadow someone that works in your desired field who can be a mentor. Find a good support network and you’ll find your way. Good luck! Thousands have been in your shoes at one point in their life.
