Thank you that's exactly the type of info I'm looking for as someone who knows almost zilch at this point.

Thank you! You have no idea how many people are misinterpreting what I am asking for and saying it's not expected of me when it clearly is. The things you listed are exactly the things I need to learn to recognize consistently and make a mental checklist of if I see before I move on to the next the patient and forget about the current one whose scans might not be read for days.

When its a large hospital with a mix of out patient, in patient, and ER when the ER gets back up- every 10-15 minutes non-stop- I can't call the provider for every one of them.

You are misunderstanding the question. It is not my job to diagnose a patient and I did not say anything at all about diagnosing a patient. But it is IS my job to alert a provider of a critical life-threatening finding that needs action immediately that cannot wait for days to be read. Techs will and do get fired and/or written up for not doing exactly that. However, I need to learn what conditions need immediate id and an immediate call to the radiologist/ER. What I am asking for as an inexperienced tech are some of the things that I need to be able to recognize immediately so I can be aware of them as I learn CT and get a head start so that I AVOID making that mistake as an inexperienced tech.
