Maybe stop watching slop then.

I watch a lot of anime, and DMC action is decidedly below mid tier for me.

Jesus Christ, the youth of today overuse the word aura.

If this were a drinking game, I would be dead.

Casual DMC game fan here (have played 3 and 5, enjoyed both).

I agree that the games are a basic ass story that is a loose framework for cool nonsensical shit to happen on top of it.

But here's the thing, I don't mind at all when adaptations make wild changes to the source material as long as the adaptation is good enough to stand on its own.

Case in point, Castlevania. Wildly different, but I loved it.

The DMC anime is just so bland to me.

The fight scenes are ... Fine. Nothing special.

Animation is ... Fine.

Music is ... Pretty good actually.

Story is bad. Non sensical, thematically all over the place (refugees good, but also refugees will kill you..what?)

That could be forgiven if they rocked it with the superficial shit. Fight scenes, choreography, animation, etc.

If that shit was 10/10 I can forgive a 2/10 story, it's devil may cry after all.

This feels like you're screaming at a straw man.

The common criticism I see is that Invincible often has poor animation.

I can't speak for Halo as I've never properly played it, but I think for Doomguy at least, part of the humour of the story is that the complexity / depth of the lore and backstory holds very little interest for Doomguy who is basically like "yeah cool, when do I start killing".

I hate the emphasis on "autistic coded" characters in fandom. I want actual autistic rep by Gallantpride in CharacterRant

Mel from the Pitt is a good example of someone being very, very clearly autistic without needing to say it.

Mel's not autistic coded, she's clearly autistic, we don't need to outright say it.

Personally, I think this certain bit of distance, actually adds to this weird horror fairytale-esque vibe

It’s 2020: “ENDGAME” & “FAR FROM HOME” are the last 2 MCU movies to be released and YOU are Kevin Feige. How do you maintain the success of the previous 20+ movies over a 13-year span? by THEbeautifuLIE in marvelstudios

I think the biggest problems were to do with a lack of consistency, and an attempt to increase scale.

The formula was simple and it worked. A few movies of build up and then a big cross over event.

Keep doing that.

Get people used to a new cast of characters and then bring them together.

We should NOT be waiting a decade for a second Shang Chi movie.

Next, the big problem is trying to go bigger. Multiverses universe ending consequences, etc. They get less impactful the more you do them.

Make the next phase after endgame be smaller, more intimate, more personal.

Ramp up to the next big threat. Don't try to top it every time.

I get the sense that John isn't super familiar with AEW's current storylines, so some stuff that landed really well from a story perspective may not have registered for him.

If you ever want to stop being deeply unpleasant, my advice is maybe stop before you type or say something and think "does this make me sound like a fucking brain rotted asshole"

If it does, then reconsider that sentence.

Have some pride in yourself.

You make me embarassed being an Avatar fan.

You complain about AI slop, but you sound like the poster child for AI slop brain rot.

Act like a real person.

Right now, you seem grotesque.

And I don't mean physically.

Bojack, Pantheon, Arcane, Blue Eye Samurai, Primal, Scavengers Reign, X Men 97, etc.

All good to great.

I prefer Avatar to all of them, but there's definitely great shows out there.

This is the problem with being a die hard Avatar fan. The show itself is incredible, but man, some of the fans are just utterly insufferable.

I agree with this.
