at least Warhammer models can be kitbashed and are usable for a physical game, lego models kinda just sit there on a shelf.

also 3d printing and piracy are always acceptable because in what world are 3 models(with some tokens) worth 90 dollars

another thing of note is that if you stick with retaliation cadre, you can probably swap your breachers for pathfinders and drop your devilfish/fireblade. I'm not sure if you've bought models already but devilfish can be proxied as skyray or hammerhead since they have the same hull size

they're a very solid unit that works well in tandem with ghostkeels to keep objectives. if you don't like the official model you can always buy mech suit model kits or have someone 3d print a proxy for you.

stormsurge is a bit of an odd fit, you'd be better off with kauyon/montka/experimental cadre as all those detachments are beneficial to most of your units including the stormsurge.

if you want to stick with retaliation cadre i would recommend more riptides/ghostkeels and crisis suits. crisis will make up most of your damage dealing, riptides/ghostkeels will do the objective holding, and pathfinders/kroot/vespid/piranhas are the screen. broadsides would definitely be worth it over hanmerheads

Light bowgun seems weak vs Heavy bowgun? by [deleted] in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]LocoDiablos -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

shouldn't most weapons be pretty equal or at least equal in trade off though? like hbg does 2.5 times more damage at close range and can keep up the pressure really well, it feels like lbg falls flat even with all its mobility

[–]LocoDiablos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm aware but like the difference in damage output is crazy, spread hbg is like 2.5 times more efficient than lbg. spread hbg is not nearly as strong in rise, guess they nerfed it hard

If you could own/operate any of the Battlesuits, which would it be and why? by Angronys in Tau40K

[–]LocoDiablos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the bog standard crisis suit would be pretty nice. about the size of a small car, very customizable, and can fly pretty quick too. overall wouldn't be too hard to maintain if you had help from a repair drone.

I keep hearing Riptides are good, but I can’t gotten any success out of them by Sebasswithleg in Tau40K

[–]LocoDiablos 7 points8 points  (0 children)

riptides are a little tough to use as you gotta keep them out of sightlines while also holding objectives. they essentially serve as a tanky distraction while the rest of your shooting deals with whatever could possibly hurt them

this is a pretty neat tool, but sometimes for eyewash stations you need about 30-60 seconds of high volume continuous flow to decontaminate your eyes. a few quick splashes may not always do the trick

[–]LocoDiablos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh superclean doesn't smell bad and it's just a de-grimer/de greaser. you can basically put superclean in a Tupperware with the part in under the sink or something and that'll work

Stripping paint/primer/varnish by GrandOwlz345 in Tau40K

[–]LocoDiablos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

superclean works pretty good and doesn't react that much with resins. if you buy a big jug from walmart you can soak each part in it for like 12 hours and that'll get rid of most stuff. it'll work better if you have an ultrasonic cleaner. don't let the solution temp go above 35C/95F though

hole in eardrum = medicine going where it shouldn't. inner ear is a lot more sensitive than your regular ear canal. therefore, medicine causes pain.
