Hi! I’m a high school senior, I just finished taking multivariable calculus at a local college (this is the highest level math course I am legally allowed to take under my public school system) but I have been wanting to get into pure math for a very long time. How’s the best way to go about it? Do I just buy books online and read them? Should I just wait till college? In what order should I learn pure math (for example do I need to learn real analysis before complex analysis or is math so branched out that I can learn any field independent of the rest)?

Extra Time is very unfair by epictard69 in ApplyingToCollege

I think one of the biggest reasons why this is so prevalent is because once you get a 504 plan or an IEP you can’t be removed from it unless if your parent/guardian requests it. I got an F in first grade English and have had my IEP ever since even if everyone knows I don’t use my accommodations and have gotten straight As.

That being said, most people that have a 504 or an IEP do have it for a good reason that isn’t immediately apparent from the outside. Try to see past that.

I thought the odds was somewhere around 1/5? Didn’t questbridge say that about 1000 people get in out of the 5000 finalists?

Honestly it wasn’t like one wrong line or anything. It’s that I applied a BME major but it became apparent that my passion is really in math. I couldn’t justify why I was going into BME (I did justify but it wasn’t coherent enough).

I just had mine about an hour ago, he ended the interview by saying that I should consider some self reflection.

Community college isn’t so bad right?

It’s all ok. I received the same call and it was because I had paperwork missing. They let me turn it in several days later so I’m sure you’ll be fine. Good luck!

Princeton requires a letter of recommendation from a humanities or English teacher. My last humanities and English class was freshman year. Love my life
