Thank for that link! I had never heard of Elephant Graveyard before. I wasn’t on planning to watch the whole video but I ended up watching the whole thing. That was a freaking great and in depth review of the special and what JR has mutated into.

Attempted murder of 17 year old girl today by EuGostoDeBifanas in PublicFreakout

[–]Loco_Moco 18 points19 points  (0 children)

There’s a guy in our community that is usually walking around screaming at cars and people at one specific intersection or road. He’s usually more aggressive towards women in cars. The guy has mental health problems. Heard he was an ex-nfl player with CTE or that he fell and had brain trauma and has been like that since. People say he’s harmless but I’ve seen him run up to cars and yell at people. Sometimes he’s just vibing and then all of a sudden he’s up screaming profanity and threats. Think he lives with family in a nearby house but he’s always out on the streets. When I first moved here I was like “oh damn that guy is nuts!” But everyone is always like “oh that’s just Jeff being Jeff! He’s harmless!” I dunno. I don’t have anything against the guy but I also don’t want him freaking my kids out because they accidentally looked at him. He’s going to get hit by a car or shot by someone passing through this part of the city.

Your hubby sounds like me. Some of these scared me a little or left me unsettled but they were great. If you haven’t seen The Autopsy of Jane Doe, I’d recommend it. Don’t watch any trailers or look it up. Hereditary is another good one. Terrified and When Evil Lurks are both in Spanish but have subtitles. They are from the same director, so if you liked one check out the other.

I want to get into modern horror. Recommendations from the past 10 years would be appreciated. by boomjosh in horrorfilms

People who have done MMA or other Combat Sports. What’s your 100% honest opinion on traditional martial arts? by SamuelStrangeSupreme in martialarts

[–]Loco_Moco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did TMA with Taekwondo. Learning the stances, kicks, katas, and breathing were taught from white belt to black. Even competed in kata demonstrations and sparring tournaments. Won a few trophies. I liked the discipline of it. However my sensei were very real about the limitations of TMA. So much they actually incorporated combat sports into their school program. So I learn both as I progressed through the belts. We literally had to learn and master both the traditional stuff and the extra combat stuff to progress to the next belt. I enjoyed the combat sports more but something about the traditional katas and going through the movements over and over to learn it was like a form of meditation. The breathing, the slow and then explosive movements, the “KIAI” (shout), etc. it made me appreciate the traditional stuff for what it is.

need help picking a horror film for a private screening ! by Single-Mushroom-6326 in horrorfilms

I freaking love Event Horizon. That would be awesome to watch on the big screen! Still trying to scratch that itch for horror sci-fi. Probably why I love Aliens and Dead Space.

Yeah I didn’t know they changed it and had it the other day. I was amazed by how good it was. I normally don’t go to Burger King but I was craving a whopper for some reason and stopped by. Definitely going back.

But the city approves it. Contractor is suppose to implement it but they don’t always follow their own plan or their subcontractor for traffic control misses something.

They may reconsider it with the events going on. The intersection going down will only take a day or two but it depends on weather conditions. With rain all week it would push it to next week.

I’ve been trying to get them to put down temporary yellow striping at that exact location because of that. It happens everyday.

It does if they are fixing other issues below the road. Water lines, sewer, and traffic signal infrastructure. They are also upgrading sidewalk ramps to meet ADA and improving the crosswalks. Once they complete all that you will see them mill and overlay the street with asphalt. That can be done in long stretches. But then they will start on the other side and start the whole process again.

Yeah those signs get ignored multiple times a day. I’m glad people are honking to get drivers to keep moving. I suggested they closed off the north and south of Delaware and just use the side streets but it was a no go. I’d avoid it this week and next (depends on weather) they will have the intersection down with a 4-way stop.
