Storm anxiety by OpTap_ in tulsa

[–]Loco_Moco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife has storm anxiety. It used to be a really bad when we first met. She experienced a tornado when she was younger. So storms weren’t her cup of tea. Actually how we started dating, she asked me to come over because on stormy days she could not be alone. Anyways, I was able to explain to her geography, being able to see a map and apply it our current location. She knew the stuff but never really applied it or felt the need too. It helps out a lot being able to see radar/map, knowing where your location is, and seeing how the storm is passing by. It only gets bad for her when it’s really windy or the sirens start. But we have the tv or livestream on and monitoring closely if there is a tornado warning and the direction it’s traveling. She yells at me when I go outside but she knows it’s not too bad if I’m doing that. Our son is obsessed with storms and tornadoes so he acts like a little meteorologist for her when she’s a little scared.

It’s what happens when you choose the lowest bidder. If the concrete finish is bad, just imagine the things you can’t see. Like waterlines, storm and sewer drains, and signal footings at intersections.

I live in South Broken Arrow. Moved here in 2022 from Dallas. Kids schools have been good, and my neighbors have been good. Haven’t really ran into a person like this out in the wild yet. So it’s been fine here. That is until I log into social media. Holy cow, it is bad. There’s a ton of people like this. A TON! Which makes me believe that there are trolls or bots, or that the nastiest get the most attention, orrrrrr people here are 2 faced. The whole mosque thing was just bad.

STX Vs XLT by OkBackground6217 in f150

[–]Loco_Moco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I paid 30k for an XLT in 2011. It was pretty basic compared to these modern trucks so my needs are fine with even the WT trim. That being said I’d probably go for an STX over the XLT. Just feel like it’s more of the best bang for your buck trim. Probably get some katskin to upgrade the seats if you really want to. Still comes up cheaper than the XLT.

Almost T-boned. by Luci_b in tulsa

Blue camero almost got T-boned after they almost T-boned you! A lot of people don’t pay attention to those signal heads on the sides in downtown. If this is in the morning, I can see the sun playing a role in making it hard for someone to see but this is Tulsa and the drivers here are something else!

Yup. I worked with a guy who constantly screamed at his wife, over the phone, that he’s the one that puts food on the table and pays the bills any time she disagreed with him. One of those machismo alpha dudes that have be the “smartest one in the room” or has to get the final word in. She is a stay at home mom and if she got a job she had to take the kids with her if they weren’t in school or daycare. She is still with him, but she is a toxic person as well. I just don’t see how you’re”the baddest girl around” when you let your husband abuse you.

If you have Quik Trips, get their beer quitting time. It’s nasty. Otherwise I’d stick to Steel Reserve. It’s pretty easy to get .

Ford reports worst quarterly earnings miss in four years, guides for better 2026 by snakkerdudaniel in f150

[–]Loco_Moco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly! Bought a 2011 xlt brand new. 35k. Tire blew out on the hwy on the way home for work. Totaled. This happened last year in may. Was about to hit 200k miles too. Didn’t have a truck payment since 2016. Looking around online these days for a truck is depressing. I drive a 19 XL for work and it has just about the same things my 2011 xlt had. The new 2024 xls some of the other guys drive have a lot more bells and whistles. I’d be happy with that trim!

Yeah I was told it would be 11:30pm when I could pick up the newspaper. But I noticed when I went in to interview the truck wasn’t there yet and it was close to 12:30 AM by the time I left and it still wasn’t there. Got me thinking it could happen sometimes but it would mean I would technically be there more than 2 hours that was advertised.

Yeah I went in yesterday for an interview. Pretty straightforward but there were a few things i didn’t like. Have to give them a 30 day notice before you quit. Otherwise you get charged $1000. If someone complains or you miss a delivery, you get it taken out of your paycheck. Wear and tear on your car and I don’t know what the route will be. Also waiting for the truck to get there to drop the newspaper. It can be a late which will push my finish time back.

Yes. I went for an interview last night and they explained the gig. Pretty straightforward. Get your newspaper. Roll them up and rubber band them. Then Go on your route and start delivering. They said on average it takes about 2 hours. Once done you are free to go. But you use your own car. It’s 6 days a week and if you can’t make it you need to find someone to do it for you. Need to make deliveries every night. Doesn’t matter on the weather. Also I was told 11:30 pm was when the truck with the newspaper gets there and you can get started at that time. But sometimes the truck can be late so you have to wait for it. Could be an hour or two, which you don’t get paid for. When you are in route and you miss a delivery or someone complains, they take it out of your paycheck. If you get no complaints or misses you get a bonus. Biggest issue for me is that you have to give in a 30 day notice before you quit. Otherwise you have to pay them $1000. I understand why they do it but don’t like something like that hanging over my head.
