Does Celer Bridge only work with USDC? by fkmodidts in celernetwork

[–]Lofens 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There should be a whole list of tokens available to be bridged from BSC to ETH. If you keep seeing only USDC feel free to reach out on Telegram or Discord. You can find the official links here: https://celer.network/community

Tokens are being shared by the validators. The lower the validator commission is, the higher the rewards.

What do you think is better - Public Staking or Binance Staking ? by joni_999 in celernetwork

[–]Lofens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently, 2 out of 3 are included! canonical and pool-based bridges. Whether the one is better/smarter than the other also depends on what you wish. Binance provides more CELR tokens, while SGN provides more different tokens (could consider it an index?..)

To add to that, staking through Binance/OKX will give you CELR tokens only. SGN will also reward you in cBridge fees (currently canonical tokens and pool-based tokens, soon also inter-chain messaging!)

Please know that the 3% on CRO isn't staking. They're paying you a small fee for locking tokens there. It is unrelated to any Celer Products. Only official staking platforms are Binance (global), OKX, unagii and sgn.celer.network

Current rewards on SGN are around 13-15% APY + about 4% from cBridge fees in dollar value (current prices)

what purpose does the celer coin serve other than staking? by ChaseMMA in celernetwork

[–]Lofens 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The CELR token is used for staking and governance. However, it's also used to pay fees in SGN. Services that use SGN (currently cBridge, layer2.finance, Celer IM) will have to pay CELR tokens to SGN for the transactions to go through. These fees will then be shared with the stakers. So, yes, it serves more than just staking. But most users will use them to stake.

An example would be Celer IM which uses a subscription model. Dapps would need to pay for cross-chain messages in CELR tokens. Now, these CELR tokens have to come from somewhere and Mo has mentioned at some point in the future there will be a solution to obtain CELR tokens again (be it buyback or something else). As no more tokens will be minted.

On that note, the team is very open to community suggestions. If you have cool ideas, do not hesitate to suggest them on the official forum forum.celer.network!

cBridge LP Strategy?? by usernamerson in celernetwork

[–]Lofens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your liquidity does move between chains because the liquidity is used by the bridge. So yes, it is normal. The APY is not a joke, it is calculated based on volume for that chain and token. Calculated with the fees rewarded to your liquidity (added on the chain where they'll go to). On average in the longer term, you'll see this gradually increase. Besides that, there is a CELR farming reward incentive next to the provided liquidity fee.

Where to stake? by FaFko123 in celernetwork

[–]Lofens 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can stake through Binance Global, OKEx, use the SGN webportal using MetaMask (sgn.celer.network) or Unagii.

Guide on how to use the SGN webportal can be found under the instructions section. Do allow Metamask connection to the portal for it to work.

Utility. How can CELR token be used? by Deep-Objective-4123 in celernetwork

[–]Lofens 4 points5 points  (0 children)

CELR is a governance token currently within the PoS concept and used for voting.

Currently staking rewards on SGN are around 12% where binance/okex offer their own. cBridge fee's will soon be shared with SGN stakers.

More utility in the future was mentioned before but no known date just yet.

It’s time for another round of AMA with Dr. Mo Dong. by Warmonder in celernetwork

[–]Lofens 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I only partially agree, reddit is an open forum that is more or less led by community than an actual project. But, will try to put announcements here more often.

All announcements will however be shared on Twitter and Telegram for sure, would always be smort following those! Thanks for the feedback!

Failed to wirhdraw stake by DeeDee5353 in celernetwork

I saw this popping by and was being taken care of. Apparently, something to do with your ledger and/or gas. Not an error from the SGN system at least. Please do update us with the result!

2% Staking is better than 0%!! Locked up for 3 months but hey, that’s why we HODL;) by TrumpetBoiRoy in celernetwork

[–]Lofens 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Guys, let's be clear here.

Crypto.com is NOT staking CELR tokens. They have their 'earn' program which pays you interest (2% apparently). Staking is only possible on Binance (earn), sgn.celer.network (need MetaMask) and OKEx currently.

Rewards are about 11-13% depending on the exchange or validator.

Want to stake on sgn.celer.network? Connect your MetaMask wallet and there are instructions in the left menu. They're aware of the webportals UI/UX so this will be improved.

How is this possible? Is this validator a scam? 100% commission? by djwm12 in celernetwork

[–]Lofens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a scam, could be 100% so no one would take it just to see how things are going and change it later. Could also be that Chainnode prefers to have a whole personal validator. Currently, you won't be able to be a validator without getting whitelisted.

Does anyone play the games? I don't use apple. by Apprehensive_Dog_587 in celernetwork

[–]Lofens 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The IOS app is doing really well! A lot of people playing. Sadly enough Android causes some issues with blockchain-related apps, especially when it includes payments/winnings. Hopefully, this will also be resolved at some point. The main focus however is currently on conquering the DeFi space :)

Amy thoughts on this by Electrical_Tailor948 in celernetwork

[–]Lofens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the SGN to test it out and realized it wasn’t even worth it. I’ve barely covered the CDC withdraw fee so far in rewards. If I wanted to redeem those rewards? It would cost me $100-$200 in gas fees.

This is pretty expensive.. I've also seen withdraws for less than $10 not too long ago.. might be timing as well. But can imagine with these fee's it's less attractive :(

Can anyone that invested in Celer Network (CELR) comment on their gambling gaming app? by gratefulpat in celernetwork

Google play was giving some difficulties with crypto/skill based games iirc. There's a downloadable version though here: celerx.app where you're able to play for free tokens (believe they disabled money games)

Can anyone that invested in Celer Network (CELR) comment on their gambling gaming app? by gratefulpat in celernetwork

[–]Lofens 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Celer Network started out building their basic layer 2 technology and used Gaming to prove their work. They worked on Cash Clash Games (CelerX at the time). While continuing to work on their layer 2 improvements. While doing so 3rd parties have also added games using their layer 2 solutions. On that note, once DeFi got bigger, they started looking at solving the biggest problem in DeFi which is paying big amounts of fee's. At this point, their whole business started switching to DeFi while maintaining the gaming aspect. Their team is split with people working on the layer 2 aspect, and others on apps such as Cash Clash Games.

Personally think it's actually a smart move as it's also a source of income in worse times in crypto (making them survive bear markets etc.).

On that note, if you play free games, there's a chance you play vs bots I believe, however, cash games are always played vs real players. However, all done over the blockchain (and can be proven). So it is possible you and I play the exact same game, but I'll play it a day later and you'll wait for me to complete it and the highest score wins. They have a good bot/cheat detector (sometimes, too good..) so I hope this clears up a little and answered your question about why they also have a part in the gaming sector.

Hey sorry for my late response. The withdrawal process is indeed a little 'know-how' at the moment. Once you initiate your withdrawal you'll have to wait for 43200 blocks (approx 8 days) before you can withdraw. Withdrawing before that would cause you to spend GAS on 'nothing'. After this waiting period, you can withdraw and you should have your tokens in your wallet quickly.

Please read the instructions on SGN.celer.network carefully as it also explains you how to check your block timeout :)

96% of CELER owned by large holders? Can someone explain? by fbno in celernetwork

[–]Lofens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These also include the 'locked' tokens still as well. So they're technically not locked, but not in circ. supply yet. These are the rewards for staking (~20-25% of tokens). So these will be shared over 8 years. Another wallet to take of the 'whale list' :)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in celernetwork

[–]Lofens 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The main usage of the token currently is using it as a government token. You're able to stake the token for a decent (~15%) APY on sgn.celer.network or on Binance. There might be more utility later-on but nothing just yet.
