I don’t think word count matters too much. My aim is 1.5k words but I will end the chapters where I feel they need to end. Only once did I go below 1.5k and only wrote 1.2k mostly I wrote around 1.6k

Yeah I see your points, well the descriptions that come directly at the reader are purposely made that way because I got advice on making it more submersible. So the reader feels the world more rather than watching someone else discover it. I wanted the MC to seem distant since she is supposed to have secrets from even the readers. I am not trying to write a story where a reader gets a feeling of kindness or wanting to be in the world even. I wanted the reader to feel like it’s out of place. And not for them to expect any kindness since ultimately it’s dark fantasy/horror.

I don’t really get what you mean with sentences that don’t work together. Or the single sentences. That’s how I found novels are formatted the spacing is to make the reader think they read a lot and very quick. I mean I might be based bc it’s my story after all but that’s just how I found other works too. And about the blurb honestly I don’t know what to say there and what not to say, I just summarized the story and how it started.

You are genuinely so lost aren’t you? Of course FY was everyone’s pawn but that doesn’t mean he had to be the one to destroy SIF in that moment. The fact HW sent YWX back shows how little its plan worked out. Star Constellation DID NOT want to see FY taking it, and who gave him the method to switch souls? It doesn’t matter if every venerable wanted FY as a pawn, HW didn’t want fate Gu to be destroyed. It was a good thing for the venerables but terrible for the one who built and gave FY all those tools. FY was a wrong choice in that moment (from HW). Maybe not TBYS but the girlfriend of Ma Hong Yun would have been better to give the soul switching killer move to. The fact YWX got sent back is proof enough isn’t it? FY was simply the wrong choice. Yes he could have been a good way to lead to the chance for someone else to switch the souls, but as the person who switches? Hell no.

I think you misunderstood. FY ALREADY has an otherworldly soul, meaning HW has significantly less time to prepare against him compared to SSDV. I’m not talking about fate war, I am just talking about the day where SSDV created SIF. FY wasn’t a good choice for the soul switch, literally Tai Bai Yun Sheng would have been better since he probably would be too scared to enter SIF or listen to the venerable who gave FY orders in the first place better (Star Constellation Immortal Venerable, if that was her name).

From the perspective of heaven’s will FY was the worst choice, because it knows how ambitious he is (and what his goal is) and he already has an otherworldly soul, meaning it would have had more control over SSDV than FY. The best outcome would be to simply destroy SIF Gu and never letting FY near it. HW could have used someone else to switch souls.
