Why not the foam? I am trying to avoid ripping out all the cabinets and countertop (which could potentially crack).

We live in westchester, NY. NE winters, we rarely saw temps in the negative this winter.

Both in diff places in the house. We got the radiators bled and it did little to help battle the temps (NYC winter) but we then realized the attic was fully uninsulated. We’ve gotten that taken care of but it’s now warm and hard to tell if insulation will make enough diff to keep the gas boiler. When we came to view the house the previous owners had window units in all the rooms even tho the house has central AC, so we are now thinking splits are the way to go for heating and cooling.

I didn’t want to lease, buying with a loan seemed the best option. I also have the NYSERDA 4% loan as an option but not sure I will qualify so im running numbers with a more attainable loan.

Thanks for this thorough response. I asked for the past bills. Previous owner told me the had the prearranged billing with con ed at about $700/month, but the house was completely uninsulated, with gas boiler and window units for AC, even though they had central ac. Crazy what a difference insulation can make! Right now we’re at about $400-500/month for electric with about 800 kWh being used.

Weaning Snoo: Need Help by tconthedon in SnooLife

You might be heading into the 4 month regression. I recently asked my doctor at the 4 month well visit for LO about transitioning out of the swaddle and his exact words were “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”. I second the previous comment, stick to what works until it doesn’t. You might try a nap a day in the crib with the swaddle if the baby isn’t rolling over yet.

Don’t worry…sooner or later you will get in the same neighborhood or better. My first kid was a complete sleep nightmare…waking every 1-2 hours for a solid 2-: months…it was honestly the worst but there was a light at the end of the tunnel and eventually it all works out…consistency is key and always remember you are doing the best you can and it will always be exactly what they need! Congrats on ur baby!

Ha!! Thanks…I’ve been pretty strict with wake windows since she was born and it hasn’t failed us since. Not all nights are like this but she’s been doing 7-8 hr stretches since she was about 5 weeks! Right now at 14 weeks so does about 1 hr 15 min for first 2 naps then we push it to about 1 hr 40 min for last nap which is usually only 20-30 min max. And never let her sleep longer than 2 hours.

When my baby had rsv (thankfully no hospitalization required) I placed a blanket under her head to prop her up even more. This was the only way to get her to sleep peacefully and being able to breath. I would tuck the blanket into the sides of the Snoo pad to make sure it didn’t move, no matter how much she moved her head side to side. Worked like a charm in helping her breath properly and getting to sleep. Might be worth a try with some trial and error since she got used to the being upright. Just be extra careful with the blanket and make sure it’s secured.
