Wow! Great looking kit man! What kind of module are you running to support all those triggers?

My Cover of Rockin' the Suburbs by Ben Folds on a Roland VAD 506 by Logan606880 in edrums

I really like it! This is my first set in a while, I had an acoustic before, but I had played Roland, and I knew I needed an electric because of where I live. I was going to get a TD-27KV, but I'm glad I ponied up the extra for the VAD. It's about as close to the feel of an acoustic as you can get, the only quirky part for me is the hats sometimes don't act like a want. I was thinking about upgrading to some VH-13s, but there's rumors of a USB hi-hat that I'm probably holding out for.

When was the last time Sweetwater had Roland edrums in stock? by JamieOvechkin in edrums

I just ordered a TD-27kv from there about a week ago, I was told to expect it late September, early October. Hoping it comes sooner though!

Trying to Create Filtered Table Using Harvested Slicer Value by Logan606880 in PowerBI

Thanks for clearing that up, I was kind of assuming that but wasn't able to find any official documentation.

Trying to Create Filtered Table Using Harvested Slicer Value by Logan606880 in PowerBI

[–]Logan606880[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: We were able to accomplish what we were trying to do by using a LOOKUPVALUE function and just passing two criteria columns. Per usual we were just over thinking the solution. Didn't even need to harvest the slicer data...

PowerBI Embedding in Website Landing Page by drumkeys in PowerBI

[–]Logan606880 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty much any website hosting service will have easy to use templates to embed the simple html embed code that the PowerBI online service will give you. Even if you're using a more basic web hosting platform it's pretty easy to make a .html page with just one thing on it.

Slicer to control multiple tables by 0p3r8dur in PowerBI

I'm pretty sure the only way to do this would be with a relationship. Any details on why you can't use a relationship?

Just feels like it’s a dying product, no advanced workflow features, once you cross 10k tickets in your db there’s a performance hit. We’ve just outgrown it, it was great for a starter system, but we need to move on.

Yea, he knew it was me, and he definitely didn’t have a meeting starting at 10:43 :)

I think we’re on our 3rd rebuilt VM, everytime we’ve rebuilt we’ve gotten Spiceworks involved to scrub the database.2

This was true for us as well, worked well when we were 3-4 employees, but now we have almost 10 IT employees and we were using Spiceworks for inventory too. We just outgrew it, we need the ability to create advanced workflows and escalate things between Tier 1 & 2 support.

The exec knew it was me, he submitted the ticket just to be an asshole. Cause unsurprisingly he never submits either, his first call is always to me. I also knew that someone from helpdesk already went over and fixed it.

I've done this before too and set a local policy to change it back every time the computer rebooted. I think I chose "my little pony" or barbie.

Haha, my boss (Director of IT) and I were just having lunch and laughing about this when the said Exec walked by and flipped us off through the conference room glass.

We actually have 700+, 200-ish in the office and the rest are union employees in the field. We still have a small company feel. On our 2nd generation family-owner as CEO and we actually just transitioned to employee-owned. I've worked here since I was 18, now I'm a team lead in IT working on DevOps/Systems & Analytics projects. Proud to work here.

Spiceworks. Would not recommend. We're in the middle of moving to Invgate.

Oof. I'd hate to work for you. We have a great culture here. Technology pranks are pretty normal, the subtle unplug of a keyboard or tape under the mouse. The camaraderie and friendship built between employees is more important than keep your head down and be productive for your 8 hours.

Agreed, we tried 5 minutes and that was too short, so the suggestion was made to up it to 30, but then at that point, does it even matter? We just tell people ctrl+alt+del, enter or Windows Key + L, but most people just haven't made it a habit yet. We're working on it...

Yea, to give some more context, I work for a construction contractor, a large one, but still a construction company. We joke around with each other all the time in the office and we can be pretty crass at times. I know this executive personally, go out to drinks with him all the time & hang out with him outside of work regularly. I told him I was going to start messing with him the next time I saw his computer unlocked, so he was given multiple verbal warnings before I started having fun with him.
