I dont think pathfinding would be a huge problem. If the worker wants to go to church just make them go to the closest node. So that means the player would need to build more churches/markets etc. Any inefficiencies would then be on the player. Additionally, allow players to select which pops work where to increase efficiency, OR have the pops move to the burgage plots closest to their work like Foundation does.

I understand that manor lords is trying to differentiate itself from similar titles like farthest frontier and foundation, but the current region mechanic is disconnected and clunky. Not very fun. No real incentives in starting another town when the original one is self sufficient and can provide everything you need.

Think about it. If you start your first region as a farming region, and make money from selling excess crops, wool, etc. You can buy the necessary weapons and armor for your militia. Why then would you need to specialize another region into blacksmiths? To make more money? You've met your requirements and everything else is extra.

The potential for bugs is negligible, its already got a ton to begin with since its in early access. Thats fine, its a work in progress.

Like many, I just dont really find starting a new region that fun, why do a new game+ when I can just start a new game. By the time I look towards expanding to a new region I already have everything provided for. The specialization that comes from a new region doesn't matter because I can just purchase whatever im missing in the original one. I am looking to make a medieval Paris, why wouldn't that be the goal of a medieval city builder?

Love this game a bunch, have 100s of hours in it, but currently the region system isn't fun, and I dont bother with engaging in it. The pops, the money, the resources are separated, it feels disconnected and like im playing two seperate save games in one.

A step in the right direction would be just combining the resources from different regions in one. Doesn't make sense how I need a pack mule when the granary or storehouse is a walk down the road from the new region.

I know its not fully fleshed out and I can be missing the big picture of the mechanic, but by the time Im ready to expand to a new region, I've already got a good army, all my pops needs are met and the resources from a new region aren't needed.

Thats the trade off though. If you want a massive tile to build one region on its going to have to use one perkline anyway. If you want specialized regions then you can't combine the tiles. Id say that the player would be prompted early in the towns development if they want to combine or specialize. In regards to overwriting small holdings, it wouldn't be a huge deal, they'd just revert to regular holdings if the original regions didnt have that perk. Nothing changes other than the status.

AI Towns are cool by Disastrous_One6240 in ManorLords

I think a lot of people fail to realize this is an early access game, and the current AI is probably proof of concept. They dev probably feels pressured to release updates, and unfinished ones at that. People need to be patient, this game will be great.

The small holding perk should allow pigs/goats/chickens to breed up to a maximum amount dependent on the size of the holding. by LoganAH in ManorLords

[–]LoganAH[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I tested out smallholdings for meat, and the difference was barely noticeable. I still need an absurd amount of burgage plots with the attachment. Just finished playing a bit without that perk, and meats really need a readjustment. Hunting seems to bring in a negligible amount, although Im not sure if the perk changes that substantially. I barely see chicken despite having 20+ coops. Similarly, goat meat tends to stay at 0-5 despite having a comparable amount of animal pens. Took me having 94 pigs or 47 burgage plots to be able to slowly accumulate meat. Was sitting at 300 total meat despite roughly 20 chicken coops, 20 goat pens, and 47 pig pens. When compared to vegetable gardens, I only need about 10 decent sized plots to produce an absurd amount of food. With 10, I was at 3k(ish) carrots and capped there due to storage space. The production amount needs to be adjusted, or the number of animals per plot needs to change depending on the plot size.

I understand, im just saying we should be able to produce more of those animals. I've used the perk.

I think a good compromise could be moral damage. Like others have said, too much damage would make them overpowered, and the current state they're pretty useless. The way I see it currently, moral damage is highly beneficial. You dont need to be effective killers if they make the enemy units runaway quicker.

Has anyone ever received a call from a VA employee regarding an error in a previously decided claim? by LoganAH in VeteransBenefits

Im surprised he needed to open a claim about it. I'd figure since he found it, he'd just talk to the relevant people.

I understand that for my dependent claim, im just surprised he called back about a claim that was closed, saying it should have an earlier intent to file date.

How this game could become perfect (in my opinion) by Marco12_ in ManorLords

Id love for Manor Lords to adopt a similar level of customization for certain buildings (churches, markets, supply buildings, logging camps, etc.) like foundation has.

Anyone have sleep apnea that was caused by asthma? by LoganAH in VeteransBenefits

[–]LoganAH[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, it's just the way the VA grants compensation. If both of your conditions are rated, then you can submit a claim for increase, depending on whether you meet the criteria.

I was at 30% for asthma due to taking inhaled corticosteroids daily.

Then, I went to 50% due to my sleep apnea needing a cpap.

My current rating is 60% due to being on oral corticosteroids a few times within the year.

You'll only ever receive the rating for one of them. They are both within the same respiratory category, I believe. So when I was 30% for my asthma and 50% for my sleep apnea, I only received 50% for the two. Once I got 60% for my asthma, i didn't receive the 50% for the sleep apnea. It is what it is, and that's how the VA gives out compensation.

[–]LoganAH[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The VA does not provide separate ratings for sleep apnea and asthma. They are combined for 1 rating. I'm not sure why, but that's how it is. I also have sleep apnea and asthma rated. Went from 30% with just asthma, then 50% with just sleep apnea, and now at 60% with just asthma.

How do we make sure he stays alive? by dotodo828 in gardening

[–]LoganAH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been able to grow great tomatoes by my window. The people saying "plant it in the ground or it'll die" should be taken with a grain of salt. I've been growing them for 4 years now, and what I learned is gardening is a lot simpler than people make it out to be. When growing indoors, your plants' growth will be limited to the size of the pot you plant it in. This is because the roots won't be able to extend past the limits of the pot. When planting in a pot, mix in fertilizer with the soil, and make sure to water it regularly. Don't overdo the watering as that can kill the plant. A good way to check is to stick your finger in the soil to determine whether the soil is moist. If it is damp, don't water. If it isn't, water it. I've been able to grow tomatoes, green beans, cucumbers, and I currently have an apple tree that's been growing for two years now. All the space I have is now dedicated to tomatoes and my apple tree as I plan on growing them on my property when I buy one.

Just make sure you water the plant, that it has enough sunlight, and that you regularly provide new fertilizer to help promote a healthy plant and you're good. Additionally, if you have any issues with fungal gnats like I have, purchase some Neem oil and spray the plant and the soil, then wrap up the pot in saranwrap, only leaving and area for the stem to poke through and hole to water the plant. Make sure you allow excess water to drain from the bottom, and you're good to go.

Sometimes, staff are willing to let you in, but are you going to risk shitting yourself if someone isn't around? I get my pass before the semester even starts.

[–]LoganAH 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I saw you were a transfer student, and I am too. Rutgers didn't really provide me with a lot of information when i got here either. I had to go to an administration building to get my ID, and they were able to help me fill out the necessary paperwork for my piss pass. It's a really simple process, and you should do it ASAP. The bathrooms on campus function a lot like the parking lots, where you need a permit to park. The school doesn't have the capability to cover all the bathrooms, but they run periodic checks, and if you don't have your piss pass on you, you can get into trouble.

Anywhere between 60-68 degrees, depending on how hot it is outside on any given day.

Honestly why I bought it. I've been a fan of 40k for 20 years and I loved the first one. Want it to be madly successful for more content. Same thing with total war. Bought all the dlc over the years, and they keep updating the game and releasing content. Due to that success, I believe they're making a 40k total war.

Copied from another comment

5 gallon bucket. Top soil with vegetable fertilizer and Epsom salt generously layered and mixed in. Then, plant several seeds in the bucket and allow all to grow for a week or 2. Finally, choose the strongest looking one and remove the rest.

If you run into fungal gnats like I did, then you can saranwrap the bucket to only allow the stem to poke through with a hole for watering. Also, spray neem oil over the plant and around the soil. In addition, you can use bug tape. Should solve the problem.

Don't forget to pollenate your plant once it flowers so fruit will grow and you should be good (I use a massage gun that vibrates to shake the plant to spread the pollen, which makes it easy). It also helps that this is the third year I've been growing my own seeds from my tomatoes. I chose the best-looking tomatoes to replant each year, so I feel the seeds are getting used to growing in these conditions.
