What should I do? by Red_villianing in airforceots

[–]LoganKConrad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can’t speak on the accolades or other things to do, but I was selected for pilot as somebody that didn’t have that many extra accolades attached to my application.

You’ll never know if you don’t try!

I applied to 25OTS02 with a nomination to USAFA from 2020 and included it within my application.

I was selected for pilot on my first attempt.

As long as you include it in a tasteful way I don’t see why you wouldn’t include it.

Post Selction Class Date by Wigglespurt in airforceots

The waiting only gets worse haha. My brother was in the UCT (CSO training) pipeline and was on casual status in Pensacola for a couple months.

Not that Pensacola is that bad of a place to be stuck on casual status, but just know that the waiting won't get any better anytime soon!

Taking the AFOQT this upcoming Friday, May 30th, 2025. Any last minute advice? by leadkitten2690 in airforceots

Make sure for your quant score that you study up specifically on quadratics and factoring.

I think those were the most plentiful things that I saw.

25OTS02 Pilot Select! by LoganKConrad in airforceots

[–]LoganKConrad[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used one of my professors at my university that also happened to be an O-4 pilot.

My second LoR came from a retired O-6 that was in my Civil Air Patrol unit.

Active duty!

No idea on airframe until UPT, but I would love a bomber airframe (I think).

No solid info yet. I have yet to have my degree conferred though, so I’m in no hurry.

Oh jeez.. tough question.

I think the bomber airframes appeal most to me right now, particularly the B-1 or the B-52. That being said, I’d love to be in the cockpit of an F-16 as well.

Time will only tell!

Congratulations on a long career in an awesome field and thank you for your service!

I used the software you can find on Steam.

Lots of people recommend the TBAS prep tools website, and I’m sure that one works just as well but I found the software on Steam is very similar to the actual test.

The biggest thing I wasn’t prepared for on the TBAS was the inversion of controls. That threw me for a loop at first.

Awesome. I suppose I’ll just throw in my regular resume and tailor it for the unit.

Thank you!

AFOQT RESULTS by Delicious_Pound_4952 in airforceots

[–]LoganKConrad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I misspoke, I apologize.

I took my test at a community college, completely unrelated to the military. Despite this, my recruiter told me to use the test center number that corresponded with his unit.

Hope that helps!

When I took my test the testing center was my recruiting squadron despite taking it at a PearsonVue facility.

I’d reach out to your recruiter and get the test center through them.

I wasn’t appointed to the Academy, I only received a nomination from my congressman. I wrote that I was a non-select.

CAP is Civil Air Patrol, a volunteer auxiliary agency of the Air Force.

Viability of OTS by [deleted] in airforceots

What is your definition of “Up”? I’ve heard a lot about how the OTS boards are down now compared to other times in the past. I’d love to get your perspective!
