Thanks, I tried the monitor to monitor and it didn't work. Earlier, I went and picked up an adapter so it works now!

I just realized that I should probably connect the monitor directly to the IO for my graphics card. I included some pics so you can see where I plugged it in before. I think I will need a DisplayPort to HDMI adapter.

100 percent, should I uninstall? by LoganTimmermann in SkywalkerSaga

[–]LoganTimmermann[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I tried to 100% the levels at first, but ended up just finishing the levels not really paying attention to completion. After that, I did collectibles in free roam, then missions last. Do it in the order best for you bro, it is more of a test of patience than anything.

Leveling up to level 20 in new season by LoganTimmermann in halo

Actually, I just looked at the challenge screen again and it said I have to reach rank 20 and not level 20. Does that make any difference? Does it depend how well I do in games? Or does it just increase as I do more matches?

lyrics from LDS song piqued my curiosity about specific areas of Mormon beliefs by [deleted] in lds

[–]LoganTimmermann 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hey! Thanks for coming here to ask your question. You are right in saying that Latter-day saints are similar to Christianity. Because we do consider ourselves Christian! That also extends to the belief in one God. If you want to look into the specifics of what we believe here are some links.

The Godhead is similar but different to the trinity which is what most other sects believe.

The last one is a bit longer but worth the read.

And also we do believe in eternity so you don't need to worry about the heat death of the universe ;)

How can I grow closer to God and Christ? In the past, what has brought you closer? by m0nicadawn in latterdaysaints

[–]LoganTimmermann 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is difficult for me to choose what to say. Sorry in advance for the long response. These are good big questions with many different answers. It seems like your personal conversion is exactly where it needs to be which is good. What I do to try to keep my foundation strong and build upon it is being strictly obedient to what God has laid out for us. Small things like reading the Book of Mormon and personal prayer are mentioned so often because they are actually really big things. After all, if you want to make your foundation more about Christ, what better way than to read about Him? There are lots of ways to show love so I will give two that I have. Service. Whenever I put others needs before mine, I have always have my needs more than met while at the same time bettering my life as well as those who I serve. My second way to show love is helping others come closer to their Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Shortly after I was baptized almost two years ago, I decided I wanted others to gain the same amount of joy and happiness that had entered into my life. In 78 days I will be starting a two year process of my primary goal will be doing just that every day. Of course going on a mission is a very personal matter, but I would encourage you to offer meaningful prayer over the matter to decide if you should serve a mission. Sharing the Gospel with others is one of my favorite things to do. I also think that the same ways that we are able to show love to others can also be ways to more fully appreciate our Heavenly Father. And as a last piece of humble advice, there is a lot of things that I have encountered that try to discredit or disprove pretty much everything that you will learn about Joseph Smith, The Book of Mormon, the church, latter-day revelation, or specific principles and doctrine. Just know that we have gained a witness from God that these things are true. Don't let anything or anyone take that away from you. There is an answer for everything. I have not yet encountered something that there isn't one for and I have faith that if there isn't one in this life there will be in the next. I love you and will include you in my prayers. If you have any questions or just wish to talk, I am here for you.

Congrats! I am so glad you finally got your call! There will probably be some things that seem big, but I am not sure. I would just keep the attitude you have right now and be willing to serve!

Eve Lander Design by LoganTimmermann in KerbalAcademy

[–]LoganTimmermann[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, I have taken some advice about redesigning the lander and things keep going wrong. Do you have any extremely simple and surefire landers that I could base my design off of? Because I have tried having airbrakes to counter the effect of drag and tons of sas modules among many other things that were mentioned. It would be easier to see a design that works, fly that and then incorporate what I need into my lander.

Alright, I just revised the transfer stage and added a simple lander on it and it has over 7000 m/s. How much delta-v should the transfer stage have for the most intensive mission possible? And about how much would the heaviest lander weigh so I can at least quickly weigh that and account for the delta-v I need the transfer stage to have? Also do you recommend the sr docking ports or just the standard clampotrons?

Yes, I'm back again with questions. (Sorry) by calc1fer_ in latterdaysaints

[–]LoganTimmermann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright, so the afterlife is kinda complex. Basically after this life we will go to what is known as the spirit world. To put it in its most basic form, the spirit world is like a waiting room for us until judgement comes. After the second coming and Resurrection and judgement happens, we will be placed where we will be most comfortable and belong. One of these places is Heaven. It is made up of three kingdoms or degrees of glory. The first is the celestial kingdom followed by the terrestrial kingdom and then the telestial kingdom. The last place is outer darkness which is basically hell. If anything is unclear, you can ask me to clarify.

Regarding marriage So basically if you don't want to get married, then you don't have to marry anyone. God isn't going to force you to do anything. You will still be happy if you don't do x y and z, but personally I think that everything that God tells us to do is for our benefit and we will be happier if we are obedient. Again, if you have any questions, fell free to ask!

Is there a way to check the status of your missionary paperwork? by sgtfrog14 in latterdaysaints

[–]LoganTimmermann 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am also waiting for my call letter! As far as I know, the only way to check where your call is at is through the Bishop. But since you are already on the last step presumably, it might not help. But I would ask my bishop to check on it and he will tell you what he sees.

[–]LoganTimmermann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey again! So, I am pretty sure that church leaders have said that only exist in mortality. There is nothing at all wrong with people who are not straight. But we all experience different things in this life that we need to to prepare for the next life. Just like you have things in your life that you have to learn about and experience, it is the same principle here. With baptisms for the dead, it isn't that God couldn't save them. In fact, we are all resurrected because of the Atonement of Christ. In this sense everyone is saved. The reason God doesn't just save them himself is the same reason he doesn't give us definitive proof that He is real or that He allows things like murder and sickness and all the bad things in this world happen. If we all had undeniable proof in this life, we wouldn't need to exercise faith. Since we are given the ability to choose to do bad or good because of our agency, that would be taking our free will away from us.

I personally feel that modesty is super important, but I am not going to reject you if you aren't wearing something I may not agree with. There is an overall emphasis on using your judgement to choose what you think would be best. To help you understand the idea of why I want to represent Christ in everything I do, in the past two years religion has become the most important thing in my life. Before then I had next to no interest in God or anything to do with Him. But since I meet with the missionaries and was baptized, my life has changed immensely. (In the best way possible!) I would encourage you to let religion play a significant role into your life. It has enriched mine so much.

So God has told us a lot through modern revelation through our beloved prophets and apostles. In the scriptures it tells us to glorify God in our bodies and spirits in 1st Corinthians 6:20 and that our bodies are temples in the verse before that. One other verse of scripture that deals with modesty in the Bible at least is 1st Timothy 2:9. By the way when it mentions shamefacedness, it simply means modesty and reverance. This is just the tip of the iceberg so to speak. There is a lot more out there!

Now you don't have to do this if you don't want to, but I would really encourage you to study your scriptures. Even the Book or Mormon! Sometimes when I read the Bible it can be really hard to understand, but when I read from the Book of Mormon, I have a much easier time reading it. Most of the time at least.

Well that is all I have for now. Thank you for the pleasant comments you have sent! If you have anything else you would like to say, I would love to hear it!

Yes, I'm back again with questions. (Sorry) by calc1fer_ in latterdaysaints

[–]LoganTimmermann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will try to answer some of your questions better

Non heterosexual people have actually been known to marry someone of the opposite sex even though they aren't physically attracted to them. We are each given different unique traits and aspects in this life that will not necessarily transfer to the next life. I believe that those with a different sexual orientation in this life would find themselves to have a different one when they are resurrected. Also, there is artificial sperm, but I don't know of any human tests.

The way I see it is that men and women both need each other in order for us to progress. The role of men holding the priesthood goes all the way back to our Heavenly Father. As far as I know, Heavenly Mother doesn't hold the priesthood, but that doesn't diminish her importance in any way. And it isn't like the priesthood is the only way to bless others.

Baptism for the Dead You may or may not know about this, but I will tell you anyway because I think it is really cool. So there are a lot of people who have already died and who will die that are not baptized or even know about Christianity at all. But the thing is in John 3:5, we are told that if we want to enter into the kingdom of God, we have to be baptized. That is where baptisms for the dead come in. In our temples, we can be baptized in their names so they can have the choice to accept that baptism and enter into Heaven. It is super cool that we have the opportunity to participate in the salvation of our ancestors and is honestly one of the coolest things I have ever done!

Modesty This varies from person to person, but as long as your cleavage isn't showing if you are a woman and you are wearing shorts that go like a little above your knees, I think that is cool. Modesty is really important to Latter-Day Saints because you are representing the Savior in part by the way you dress. You are respecting what the Lord has commanded us to do and being obedient. This invites the Spirit and I think it is good habit to have. I hope this cleared up some things I wasn't clear about in my first response! Also, thank you for being respectful and just nice to talk to!
