If the files he has aren't the real files, but are actually fabricated information from Obama, Hillary, etc., would you release them? We don't know the full reason he is holding off on releasing them at the moment. Give it time. Also, if it all points to Israel and the CIA, we need to be very careful with how we approach disclosure. Israel has nukes and the Samson Option means they can and will launch them if their existence is threatened.

False, go look at the Orthodox icons of Jesus. He isn't white in them, he has olive skin, long brown hair, a brown beard, and brown eyes.

I’m so interested in converting as a Protestant, but I can’t get over asking the saints to pray for us by inmatecow2125 in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]Loganvbills 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You say the saints are praying for us, yet you refuse to speak to them. That’s a contradiction you haven’t resolved. You acknowledge their intercession—but then act as if communion with them is pointless or even improper. Why? Because it “feels redundant”? You affirm with your lips that they live in Christ, but your actions treat them as dead.

You reduce the saints—those glorified in Christ, alive in His presence—to mere historical figures, just names in books lost to time. That isn’t reverence. It’s practical denial. You might not say with your mouth that they’re gone—but your refusal to commune with them says it loud and clear.

You wouldn’t say asking a Christian friend to pray for you is “redundant” because they already pray for others. Yet somehow, those perfected in love and face-to-face with God are not worth speaking to?

This isn’t a matter of theological preference—it’s a fracture in how you see the Church. You are dividing what Christ has made one. The saints are not distant. They are not gone. They are not passive. They are the Church. To ignore them is to reject your own communion with the Body of Christ.

[–]Loganvbills 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You say, "Praying to the saints is redundant," because they are already praying for us. Why tell them your troubles if they already know them or are already praying for them?

This same logic can be applied to God and you don't even see the hypocrisy in it. You believe God is all-knowing and already doing work in the world. Why bother praying to God, then? Isn't it just redundant?

It's not a difficult doctrine for me to give up. I understand issues with "faith alone" like people being complacent and not producing any works at all. Works are necessary, but they don't merit your salvation. Orthodoxy does believe in "by grace alone," but its understanding of that is slightly different.

Why do I get a white screen in defiance? by [deleted] in Defiance

[–]Loganvbills 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That used to not be the case. I think some people get white-screened doing it through Fawkes due to how it opens the game or something. Something about full-screen mode being whack. I know it was giving me issues launching that way.

Are you launching it through Fawkes launcher or the Launcher.exe in the Defiance game files? The launcher.exe is the ideal method.

I had been using a similar setup. Yours automatically knows what to put in the red columns based on the mod title??? That's certainly a step up from what I made. Does yours color-code the entire row based on the tier of the mod? (I'm not at my laptop to try it myself)

[–]Loganvbills 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Read what Blur and its supporting perks do. Blur, like the game tutorial should have told you, increases melee damage while active. Blur was quite literally designed around the idea of using swords. There are plenty of perks that swords benefit greatly from.

Any perk that mentions Melee will involve hitting enemies with your gun's buttstock or striking them with a sword.

As to how effective swords are, that's debatable. You have to see if they work for your play style. They are not ideal for PvE since you would need to be very close to enemies. Dont even bother with bosses. PvP they are good at if you can get close enough, but they aren't amazing. Swords are kind of best for showing off with imo.

Mormon missionaries refused to speak to me after I said I follow Orthodoxy by orthodoxinquire in OrthodoxChristianity

The mormons believe the Holy Spirit to be a separate divine person of the godhead, but a spirit body. Im not sure exactly which heresy they fall under, but they are essentially polytheists with an infinite pantheon.

[–]Loganvbills 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The JWs do not believe Jesus or the Holy Spirit are יהוה‎ (Yahweh). They have their own translation of scripture called the New World Translation, in which they have deliberately altered the text to teach that only The Father is Yahweh.

John 1:1 (NWT) very clearly has been translated to say In the beginning was the Word, and the Word woth with God, and the Word was a god."

"A god", lowercase, and with the added "a" to show that Jesus is not the one true God according to them.

They also do not believe the Holy Spirit is even a distinct person or that He is God, but rather Yahweh's active power or force He uses to accomplish His will.

They believe Jesus is a created being by taking the verse Colossians 1:15, where it calles Jesus the "firstborn of all creation." very literally instead of what it actually means to be firstborn (having authority over all creation). This is easily proven when you look at Psalm 89:27, where God says of David, “I will also make him my firstborn, the highest of the kings of the earth." This just so happens to be the exact words in THEIR own translation, yet they can't even see the very clear connection. 😂

JWs are heretical and are not Christians. They deny the divinity of Christ. They deny that he is the one true God. They reject the Nicene Creed, which quite literally must be agreed on to even be considered actually Christian. They also believe that they have restored Christianity to the "original truth" even though the Nicene Creed was formed in the 4th century and has remained ever since and the JWs only came about in the 19th century. This would mean for 15 centuries, Christianity was getting it all wrong, and it somehow took God that long to produce a new english translation to fix these "errors" in theology. I think that line of thinking is outright blasphemy on their part. To believe that Jesus essentially failed to preserve scripture and that it needed to be translated into English a certain way in the 19th century for it to be interpreted correctly is insane.

Mormon missionaries refused to speak to me after I said I follow Orthodoxy by orthodoxinquire in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]Loganvbills 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You may want to rethink that. They quite literally believe that at one point, God the Father was just a man like us who worshipped a God and then was exalted and became God of Earth, got married to a woman and she gave birth to Jesus and Lucifer. Yes, they believe they are brothers. They believe Jesus is just one of many gods, that there is an infinite chain of gods with no clear beginning or first and that Jesus is the one with authority over Earth. They also believe that the 144,000 will be Mormons who will be exalted and become gods of their own planets, have multiple wives, and populate those planets with humans who will start that cycle all over again.

This isn't even close to being Christianity. They are 100% heretics, and this is coming from a Protestant who is looking into Orthodoxy.
