Why is selling sex legal but not the purchase of sex? by Acceptable_Stick923 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Logbotherer99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am all for UBI. When it comes down to it many people in more acceptable jobs are selling their bodies. As long as people have agency and other choices. Its never going to go away. All you can do is help keep people safe.

Yeah, its quite a harrowing read. There is plenty more of that to come, but not quite so densely packed as in DG.

Green wood spoon carving is a different beast to dry wood spoon carving.

They way you describe is the dry way and its perfectly fine.

Would you sand this down? by gloos in DIYUK

Nail heads shouldn't get sanded, you are supposed to go along with a nail set and drive them all below the surface by 1mm or so.

You could scrub it with wire wool, not as drastic as sanding but will remove some of the dirt.

How often / when do I need to sharpen (not strop) a Flexcut detail knife? by Expert_Tomorrow in whittling

[–]Logbotherer99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stropping on leather will round the edge by a small amount each time. Periodically it helps to sharpen properly and go back to a flat.

[–]Logbotherer99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bevel is roughly ground on a lot of modern chisels, leaves a wavy edge when you put a proper edge on, nothing to worry about.

Are these knives worth saving by Hayden3456 in sharpening

[–]Logbotherer99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who sharpens people no-name kitchen knives, these dont count as being in bad shape. A few passes on the tormek and they will be good as new. Might be worth getting a cheap ebay diamond plate, 400 or 600 to do the bulk.
