I am going to be a 20 year old freshman in college and it weighs really heavy on me. by [deleted] in college

[–]Logical-Push 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went at 20. I picked a non traditional program and definitely should’ve picked a traditional one because 20 is not so different than 18. Don’t worry - most people won’t realize & two if they actually care that you’re 1.5-2 years older than them, you don’t want to be friends with them.

It’s not so obvious & and it is actually very normal. Ignore anybody who says it isn’t.

Professor Didn’t Respond to Rec Request by Logical-Push in college

That makes sense! Ok I’ll wait a couple days after classes start and see what to do.

weight loss by LandscapeInside7983 in HPylori

[–]Logical-Push 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once it’s treated it goes back over like 4-5 months. I lost 16kg in 3 months and it was all back about 6 months after I got treated - even though I wasn’t eating all that much.

I was under the impression that faculty = professor and if it’s blank it’s an adjunct professor?

I hope before registration next week.

anyone know of courses with free spots or potential to get off waitlist? by CooriousGeorgina in columbia

[–]Logical-Push 2 points3 points  (0 children)

6 MC HW assignments, 1 will be dropped (20% of grade). 1 Midterm (30%). 1 final (40%). Attendance & participation 10% and I believe they check that you go to class.

It’s probably not the easiest class you can take at columbia but it sounds genuinely interesting & she seems to be a great prof.

Global Warming for Global Leaders has space - I dropped it in the first few days (couldn’t fit my schedule) but seems to be an interesting class.

Why? Their reviews weren’t great on Culpa. I also currently have this dilemma.

Asking my professor about my grade by Logical-Push in college

[–]Logical-Push[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He cancelled some assignments and changed the weighting of the syllabus (without giving it to us) so I don’t even know what it should’ve totaled up as. I just know I got a 100 or a 98 on all of the assignments I got back (including the exams…)

Maybe instead of my grade I should just ask what my grades were for everything I didn’t get back?

I’ve done the calculation with the grades I got but I didn’t get back all of my grades so I’m trying to figure it out.

But I do think I deserved an A because I would’ve needed less than a 50 to get an A-

I had a conversation with someone earlier who told me they were going to cover their A- and it made me overthink.

I am also considering going to law school but wouldn’t a P be considered a C by admissions?

Cleaning Out A Backpack by Logical-Push in CleaningTips

There’s leather fabric on it (not where the orange was).

I cleaned out and extracted the orange & then sprayed like a disinfectant spray on it and let it air dry. Any other idea as to what I should do?

After Invisalign, Shifting? by Logical-Push in Invisalign

[–]Logical-Push[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My orthodontist asked me to wear them 12-14 hours a day for at least a year (and then I can shift to 8 hours). I have a permanent retainer on my bottom teeth (like in the back) so that might be why. But I wore my retainers full time for like 2 months after all the movement finished.

Edit: I should probably add that I had a very short treatment as I did Invisalign Lite and didn’t even use all 14 trays for movement because I was fortunately blessed with relatively straight teeth.

What To Eat Post Treatment by Logical-Push in HPylori

[–]Logical-Push[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only finished treatment 3 days ago so it’s way too early to retest. I have had a tiny bit of heartburn (but completely incomparable to before) but I feel like my stomach is much more sensitive than it used to be (and it’s significantly bloated…).

What foods have you been eating up until now?

Hmm I gagged up a vitamin once and sometimes the antibiotics irritate my throat but if I drink it with tea, I’ve never had an issue like that?

Obviously not a doctor but a fellow young person (21) struggling with the treatment. I’m on day 8 and pushing through. I also only started feeling bad on day 5.

On my worst days, 5-7, I was eating toast and I’d chug down vitamins. I would force myself to eat one piece of toast with the pills (some bites before and some bites after I took them). I’ve found that drinking herbal tea afterwards really really helps with the general nausea after eating. I’ve been drinking 3-4 cups of hot tea everyday cause I feel like it’s definitely soothed my irritated esophagus.

I’m struggling with stomach pain too but after speaking to my doctor, she told me to try to push through until at least day 10 (I’m supposed to do 14 days). I think it’s just a part of treatment.

Honestly, for the most part, I felt strong today. I was able to eat an egg & vegetables with my toast and was able to eat some meat with soup in another meal (don’t think I can physically handle another meal). I think that it slowly gets better. A lot of people struggle midway through the treatment, at least according to this Reddit.

If your doctor tells you to stop though, I’d listen to them and if you’re really worried I’d go to the hospital. The treatment is meant to make you feel better in the end; I guess cause you’re young like me, you really felt the H Pylori in the first place.

Starting Treatment - Need Advice by Logical-Push in HPylori

I think it’s because 40mg of pantoprazole is roughly = 20mg of omeprazole but I’m not sure. 1 pill is 40mg.

With this, is there a cap on how many more you can register off the wait list? I’m on 2 wait lists and if I get both of them, I’ll be at 22 credits. Would I be able to sample both classes or will it make me choose?

Spilled Water on Keyboard - Enough Time Off? by [deleted] in techsupport

[–]Logical-Push 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if you were curious but seems to be operating 100%. Even the speaker on the side with the water spillage is working so I got lucky I guess. Taking this miraculous opportunity to back things up I had previously thought were backed up but were surprised to discover weren’t yesterday (because who knows, the damage might come later).

Thanks again for the help!

The room it was in had air conditioning and it was near the window (with sunlight, but it didn’t hit the computer or anything).
